Militants of the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) and the al-Qaeda-affiliated “Wa Harid al-Muminin” operations room launched a joint attack on Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions along the Turkish border in northern Lattakia on June 9.
A source in the SAA told SouthFront that the attack, which began in the early hours of the morning, was launched from Turkish territory. The source said that vehicles armed with heavy machine guns supporting the militants were moving on the border line. A salvo of rockets also came from the direction of southern Turkey.
The NFL and Wa Harid al-Muminin claimed that more than 50 Syrian soldiers were killed in their attack. However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that only 9 SAA personnel and 4 militants were killed.
The NFL was formed last August by several Turkish-backed groups after direct pressure from Ankara. Wa Harid al-Muminin was established around the same time by al-Qaeda-affiliated Jamat Ansar al-Islam, Horas al-Din, Jabhat Ansar al-Islam and Ansar al-Tawhid.
This new attack is another evidence of the growing cooperation between Turkish-backed groups and al-Qaeda in Syria. The deployment of these terrorists on the border line also raises serious questions about Ankara’s role in this cooperation.

If as stated that attacks began from Turkish side of the border then SAA will have hard evidence. Experience teaches smart people a lot of home truths. At least we have seen the collapse of old order, chaos and now something new hopefully out of this mess. Russia is mistaken if it thinks that Turks will ever forgive them for all the defeats and loss of lands from the Crimean wars onwards. There is not question at all the help that Russia has given to Syria to recover 45% of its original land. The fundamental question is the relation Turkey-Russia which smells bullshit. Turkey will not retreat, and Syria will need to send Turkey back home for good with all its terrorists.

Ankara has transferred nearly 190,000 family members of Tahrir al-Sham terrorists from Idlib city to regions stretching from Afrin and E’zaz to the towns of al-Bab, Jarabulus and al-Ra’ei in Northern Aleppo. It added that Ankara is attempting to expel the local population in Afrin in Northwestern Aleppo seize and their lands and properties, noting that the Turkish army has so far sheltered over 64,000 family members of the terrorists in this region’s towns and villages. Turkey has been aiding the terrorist groups militarily and supporting their family members. Relevant reports said earlier this week that Russia had warned Turkey that it would provide military support for the Kurdish militias in Northern Aleppo in case Ankara continued supplying weapons and equipment to the terrorists against the Syrian army in Idlib province. Al-Rai al-Youm news website quoted an informed source as saying on Friday that Ankara had received a clear warning from Moscow after it extended military support for Tahrir al-Sham and other terrorist groups in attacks against the Syrian army in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib. It added that Moscow had cautioned Ankara that in case of continued supply of weapons and equipment to the terrorists in Idlib, it would provide the Kurdish forces in Tal Rafa’at with military support. Based on the report, the Ankara-backed Faylaq al-Sham terrorist group receives weapons, military equipment and ammunition from Turkey and supplies them among the terrorist groups in different fronts across Northern Syria.

So the rebels aren’t just using Turkish manufactured and supplied weapons and equipment, they’re also using Turkish sovereign territory to launch their attacks from. The Russian have to respond to this or lose all credibility, they have lots of personnel nearby and this is a direct threat to Russian forces stationed there and SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED. Erdogan is the only reason we have any fighting at all, why Putin puts up with him and his continued support for the rebels is way beyond my comprehension.
