On May 27th, North Korea called John Bolton a “structurally defective guy” and that “such a human defect deserves an earlier vanishing,” a spokesperson for the North’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement published by national outlet KCNA.
The comments followed a claim by US National Security Adviser John Bolton that North Korea’s military drills that included short-range ballistic missile launches on May 4th and 9th were illegal under UN resolutions.
According to the statement, Bolton’s claims were “much more than ignorant.”
“As for the UNSC “resolutions” which Bolton recklessly referred to, we have neither recognized nor bound by them, because those “resolutions” are illegal and outrageous ones that completely deny the rights to existence and development of a sovereign state, as we have already stated several times.
If any object is launched, it is bound to fly in trajectory. What the U.S. is taking the issue is not about the range but the prohibition of the launch itself using ballistic technology. This is, after all, tantamount to a demand that the DPRK should give up its self-defensive right.”
The North further justified its drill rights and said that they neither threatened any country nor targeted anyone.
“It takes little insight to determine that Bolton clearly does have a different mental structure from ordinary people.”
Finally, it was recalled that Bolton himself confessed that he “played a “hammer” to “shatter” the 1994 DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework, and he is well-known as an anti-DPRK “war maniac” who fabricated various provocative policies such as designation of our country as “axis of evil”, preemptive strike and regime change.”
In addition, he “stood at the forefront” of the Iraqi War and the end of the INF Treaty. His reputation as a “war monger” is now being reinforced by his desire to seek confrontation in Latin America and the Middle East, the statement said.
The statement, in addition to calling him a “human defect,” also alleged that he was a coward, simply whispering of war in US President Donald Trump’s ear.
“It is not a mere coincidence that criticisms are now being heard in the U.S. that Bolton is a warmonger whispering war to the President when he himself evaded military service, saying he had no desire to die in a Southeast Asian rice paddy.
After all, it will be fit to call Bolton not a security adviser striving for security but a security-destroying adviser who is wrecking peace and security.”
The statement, came as a response to Bolton’s accusation. On May 25th, while in Japan, he said that “U.N. Security Council resolutions prohibit North Korea from firing any ballistic missiles. In terms of violating U.N. Security Council resolutions, there is no doubt about that.”
Bolton brushed off the North Korean rhetoric, saying, “I take much of what they say with a grain of salt.”
Calling the U.S. seizure of the North Korean ship “appropriate,” Bolton said it may be a good time to discuss the return of the USS Pueblo, a naval intelligence ship held by the North since 1968.
The US National Security Adviser’s claim came a day after North Korean state outlet KCNA published a North Korean Foreign ministry statement accusing the US of deliberately causing the collapse of the last Trump-Kim talks in February.
The US, according to the North, was making unilateral and impossible demands, it also condemned the recent seizure of the North Korean cargo ship.
US President Donald Trump attempted to downplay the North Korean missile tests, saying that it didn’t really bother him and that he had confidence in Kim Jong-Un.

On May 10th, in an interview with Politico Trump also downplayed the missile tests.
“They’re short-range and I don’t consider that a breach of trust at all. And, you know, at some point I may. But at this point ‘no’,” he said. “These were short-range missiles and very standard stuff. Very standard.”
Later, he was quoted as having said that the Trump administration was looking “very seriously” at the launches, adding: “Nobody’s happy about it.”

Bolton is so starkly extreme and predictable that apparently even North Korean officials have been able to pin down his particular psychological profile. Bolton is indeed different from most humans, as all sociopaths have structural differences in their brains. They lack sufficient childhood development of the amygdala, the emotional centre of the brain. This is why sociopaths do not experience emotions such as empathy, and have no guilt or remorse for any negative impact their actions may result in for others. However, once their pathology is understood, sociopaths are actually very predictable – ruthlessly self serving, completely untrustworthy and without any emotional restraint – at the interpersonal level they are best avoided at all costs.
