A satellite image allegedly showing a U.S. Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit stealth bomber mid-flight in Missouri was recently shared online.

The Google maps image was published by u/Hippowned on Reddit and gained popularity fast. The publication had more than 111 thousand upvotes and thousands of comments.

According to the screenshot the bomber was caught on footage not far from Whiteman Air Force Base located south of Knob Noster. Since 1980-s, the the USAF’s military base has been home of the B-2 Spirit.

It can be seen by coordinates: 39 01 18.5N 93 35 40.5W

ZeroHedge located the supposed area where the U.S. bomber was spotted by Google maps.

The B-2 Spirit is a US stealth heavy strategic bomber. It employs low observable stealth technology designed for penetrating dense anti-aircraft defenses. Thus, is should be considering the Northrop Grumman built B-2 stealth bomber is by design extremely difficult to be detected by radar.

The creation of the B-2 Spirit began in the late 1970s under Jimmy Carter and continued under Ronald Reagan. The costs of the project were constantly growing. After several improvement in 1997, the B-2 Spirit costed $ 2.1 billion apiece, according to The Infographics Show.

The price seems to be high enough for a bomber that cannot hide from Google maps.

The B-2 should be replaced with a promising B-21 Raider aircraft soon. It is expected to be rolled out to the public in 2022. This event will be an important stage in the construction of the updated U.S. strategic bomber forces.

In September 16, 2019, it was announced that the first B-21 Raider was being produced in Northrop Grumman’s Palmdale facility, California.

The Pentagon intends to adopt the first production model of the B-21 after 2025. In total, the US defence ministry plans to deliver 100 strategic bombers of this type to the national Air Force.

In accordance with the plans of the Air Force command, this aircraft is planned to be built on the basis of the principle of “dual purpose”, which allows operation with both nuclear and conventional weapons. The US Air Force command plans to spend from 36 to 56 billion dollars on the programme for the purchase of the B-21 Raider aircraft, the cost of one aircraft is estimated to be 564 million.

It is assumed that the use of technologies to reduce radar visibility on it will provide the possibility of covertly overcoming the enemy’s deeply echeloned air defence system. Probably, Google maps too.

Not too spiritual 😂😂😂

Those aircrafts are not stealth. They have a very small signature in certain wave-lengths usually used by radar. That is all they have as a “stealth” feature. They can easily be seen by today’s upgraded radar technologies. Why would the US wet their panties about Turkey buying the S400? Because NATO would discover then, that there is noting stealth about the junk they already bought/ordered from the US :-)

Just a routine flight to Chiraq, to deal with gang violence.

I don’t see how this is newsworthy….

This is trolling. Stealth is not invisibility. Capturing a random photo demonstrates nothing about its radar signature.

Thats true. But fact is, advanced radars can see them. Advanced military radars can even lock on.

Lone Ranger

U.S. stealth never worked. Its a gimmick to milk the taxpayers, its A PR stunt nothing more. Ordinary weather radars can see them.
