Security forces in Tripoli have arrested the notorious Somali human smuggler, Hassan Qidi, who was wanted for heading a gang working on illegal immigration and human trafficking.
On September 11, Libyan Attorney General confirmed the identity of a notorious Somali human trafficker Hassan Qid, after he was reportedly arrested during a raid of 444th Combat Brigade in Bani Walid in March.
He is accused of heinous crimes against migrants, including blackmail, torture, and killing. The Libyan Public Prosecution accused Qidi of deliberately killing dozens of migrants, trafficking their organs, and sexually assaulting a number of immigrant women, as well as of forcibly detaining migrants and subjecting them to cruel treatment to force their families to pay a ransom for their release.
Libyan Attorney General, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, claimed that help would be provided to the kidnapped women and the testimony of the victims would be heard.

Earlier, the Director-General of Nigeria’s National Agency for the Prohibition of People Trafficking, Basheer Garba Muhammed, said that a farm had been detected in Libya, where African migrants were kept in cages like animals, according to the Libya Review report.
