Spokesperson for Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki announced in Twitter that the next phase of Turkey’s Operation Euphrates Shield will have a goal to ‘besiege’ the ‘regime forces’ (the Syrian government forces) in Aleppo city.
Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki is the so-called ‘moderate opposition group’ (involved in child beheading) backed by the United States and Turkey. The group participates in the ongoing Turkey-led military operation in northern Aleppo under the banner of Operation Euphrates Shield alongside with other pro-Western ‘moderate opposition groups’.
Meanwhile, Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) also announced that the group and its allies are readying for a major advance to break the siege of militant-controlled areas of Aleppo city.
The situation in northern Syria is rapidly escalating despite the ‘ceasefire’ in Aleppo city.

Agree, Turkish military armor that would be key means of pushing ‘FSA’ forward into Aleppo city would be completely exposed inside Syria proper. Turks field upgraded M60 style tanks without any anti ATGM protection and defensive SAA Kornet teams could devastate them in minutes. They would also be wide open to aerial assault from Syrian and Russian Su25s. Turkey will bluff and bluster and will continue to shell/ ethnically cleanse Kurds in Syria, but the domestic propaganda about reclaiming Mosul and Aleppo is about domestic politics, to get Turks behind Erdogan, with Ottoman style expansion/ nationalism talk.
