Nov.13 Paris Attacks: Radical Islamists Reaction

Syrian Islamist group “Jaish al-Islam” has condemned the “criminal attack of the Islamic State” on innocent civilians in the French capital and said that the attack would be helping president al-Assad. The leader of the organization Z. Allyush noted that “the incident was aimed at destroying the trust between the Syrian and the French nations. “Jaish al-Islam” is known for a number of shocking actions in Syria. On November 1, 2015, an opposition media outlet, Shaam News Network, posted a video showing Jaysh al-Islam militants locking people in cages. 100 cages containing 7 captives were spread out through Eastern Ghouta, northeast of Damascus, to use them as human shields against Syrian government air raids. On 11th of December 2013, “Jaish al-Islam”, a part of Al-Nusra Front, entered the industrial town of Adra and targeted minority groups, killing at least 32 alawite, christian, druze and ismailites civilians.

Labib Al-Nahhas, responsible for international relations of the “Ahrar al-Sham” group, affiliated with “al-Qaeda” and backed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, condemned the attacks that occurred on November 13, 2015 in Paris, for which “Islamic State” group (IS) claimed responsibility, and said that the response to these actions can only be universal and unequivocal condemnation. On his Twitter page, L.al-Nahhas called the attacks in Paris “despicable” and compared them to the suffering of the Syrian people, who have had similar losses for the last five years under the impact of the Assad regime.

The famous ideologist of “al-Qaeda” Mohammed al-Maqdisi called the terrorist attacks in Paris a  retaliation for colonialism in the Muslim world.

Approval for the group that committed the attacks in France was expressed by the Somali organization “Al-Shabab” which is associated with “Al-Qaeda”. “You (the supporters of IS) have already healed our hearts, even if we disagree with you.”, a statement issued by the group read.
Ehsanullah Ehsan, a spokesman for “Tehrik Taliban Pakistan” has called the action “payback for French colonial policies”.

Supporters of the “Islamic state” justify the terrorist attacks on 13th of  November, calling people hypocrites if they condemn the attrocities. According to their opinion the reasons for this operation were: to ridicule the infidels for insulting the prophet, to punish the continuation of air strikes against targets of IS, as well as for leading war against Islam.

Israfil Yilmaz, IS militant from the Netherlands, claims that over the years blood of Muslims has been shed all over the world and no one pays any attention to it. A. Choudary, a prominent ideologist of the British “Islamic State”, argues that the IS attacks were analogous to the operations of the West in the Muslim world and calls those who sympathize with France hypocrites.

The “Dutch Mujahedeen in Syria” group, as a part of one of the companies affiliated with the “al-Qaeda” organization, reacted to the attack in Paris with general support for the actions of the extremists in France, although it stated that the IS deviated from the “true path.”

Another militant from the Dutch “Dzhabhat en Nusra” Saeed al-Halyabi tweeted that these attacks were “only a small incident” compared to the victims the Muslim world faces.

A warlord from “Jund al-Aqsa,” demands that the number of such acts of terrorism must be  increased in order to stop France from invading the Muslim world.

“Al-Battar” Media Fund, which has strong ties to ISI, published an appeal of authoritative jihadist Mohammed Al-Gharib Ikhwan (portrayed as a hero in many videos of ISIL), who mocks the victims of the terrorist attacks, stressing that “these attacks, made an indelible impression on the enemy “. He describes the acts as “retaliation for those who were engaged in the war against Islam,” and notes that “the operation followed soon after the Russian aircraft was shot down in the Sinai and after the bombings in Beirut.” He said: “Kill one of us, thousands and millions will come to avenge us.” According to him, the West has only the choice between converting to Islam and paying jizya (poll tax for non-Muslims in Islamic countries), or death, which the West will try to delay by introducing a truce. He calls not to interfere in their affairs, otherwise Paris will receive “fire” again. “Do not cry over Paris. You are still killing Muslims for the sake of your economic interests. During your siege of Iraq, millions of innocent children were killed, so what kind of humanity  are you talking about. ”

Continuing his speech, one can forecast his attitude towards the likely responses to the terrorist attack in Paris. “Do you think we are afraid of your reaction to the operation in Paris? No, we are looking forward to it. We gave you the choice of an armistice, with which you will be able to save at least some your existence, but you refused. Now, we welcome you to Dabik (village near Aleppo, where according to legend, «true Muslims» and infidels must flock for the decisive battle).

Radical Islamist groups, as well as the ideologists of “Islamic state” and “Al Qaeda”, in general approve of the terrorist attacks in Paris, regarding them as the retaliation for the policies of Paris in the Muslim world, its last colonial conquest. In this aspect they have unanimity of views.
