Oman’s Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on July 7, where he met with President Bashar al-Assad and a group of senior Syrian officials.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said in an official press release the two sides discussed the latest developments in the regional and international arenas during the meeting.

“President al-Assad also discussed with Minister Bin Alawi the challenges imposed on the whole region politically and economically and means to confront them in different domains,” the state-run agency added.

Oman was one of the few Arab states that didn’t cut its ties with Damascus following the 2011 crisis. Last year, Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid Muallem visited Muscat, where he discussed the situation in Syria with senior Omani officials.

Yusuf bin Alawi’s visit may be a part of ongoing efforts to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East. Oman is known for being a mediator among the sides involved in the regional  struggle.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:45 P.M.) – Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad made a bold move this past weekend as he replaced long-time intelligence chief Jamil Al-Hassan. According to a source in Damascus, Al-Hassan has been replaced by General Ghassan Ismael of Tartous.

In addition to sacking Al-Hassan, the Syrian President has also ordered the military intelligence forces to replace the Air Force Intelligence forces in rural Damascus. They will be tasked with removing the AFI checkpoints and relieving their forces in the West Ghouta and East Ghouta. The source in Damascus added that this move likely comes at the request of Saudi Arabia, who is working to build an alliance in Syria with Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

why is assad doing what saudis want???

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Assad’s not doing what the Saudis want at all, that article is totally misleading. Assad’s been wanting to get rid of this guy for quite a while now, and he has several good reasons to get rid of him, for starters he’s guilty of war crimes and will probably punished for them after hostilities end, and secondly he’ll also become viable competition to Assad politically in the future after he retires from the military, but I think Assad will probably put him in jail before that happens, and from all accounts, this guy should be in jail, he’s not much better than the terrorists he’s fighting against.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

What war crimes he committed?

Sinbad2

Don’t worry Willing is very confused, he seems to think that Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah might replace Assad, a total nut.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

You need to get your facts straight and stop your trolling, everything I asserted is factually correct and checkable, and the article I questioned is just a piece of oppositionist propaganda [confusing spin], used to confuse the unintelligent like you. The Saudi’s are making demands of Assad but they’re demands mostly concern Iran, not who’s in charge of the Syrian army or it’s intelligence wings, as to Assad paying any attention to their demands, I doubt he is since he’s been ignoring their main demand and hasn’t budged an inch in his resolve on anything i’ve read about. Do you ever have anything constructive to say?

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Search for his name and you’ll find plenty of articles concerning his war crimes, some of which he freely admits. Never mind Sinbad2, he doesn’t read much else but Southfront. People like Jamil Al-Hassan might be fighting on the right side but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a good person. Assad doesn’t seem to think he’s worth keeping on does he, even though Jamil Al-Hassan hasn’t really made any strategic mistakes that would justify his demotion, just some moral ones that justify Assad’s actions.

Rob

Oman is a military base of US, UK and NATO forces. Oman has been fucked.

Xoli Xoli

Oman is USA and Israel messenger.

Sinbad2

A fluffer.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

“President al-Assad also discussed with Minister Bin Alawi the challenges imposed on the whole region politically and economically and means to confront them in different domains,” the state-run agency added.

In other words they discussed the Muslim brotherhood and Erdogan’s meddling in their internal political affairs, and since many of the Arab countries [like Oman] that do have Monarchical systems, are now currently under threat by the Muslim brotherhood, all the Kings and Sultans want to stop them. The Muslim brotherhood have the same type of ideology that Isis does, religious rule overrides political rule and Monarchical rulers will all have to go, unless of course they’re subservient to the religious laws like the Qataris rulers are. But the Sultan of Oman, and all the other Kings are worried that Isis and the Muslim Brotherhood will pay them a visit too if they’re not stopped, and they don’t like the idea of religious rule overriding their rule, and since Trump’s been in power he’s also been trying to help the Arab Kings and Sultans do just that [the US has the Muslim Brotherhood listed as a terrorist organization], he also wants the Kings and Sultans to remain in power. Trump said in way back in June last year Assad could remain in power, and he still hasn’t changed that proclamation. Even the Israelis are starting to worry about the effect the Muslim Brotherhood’s having in the region, they’re security is at stake and since the MB are doing everything they can to make that worse for the Israelis, the Israelis are now looking at Erdogan and the MB the same way they look at Iran. Erdogan and the Muslim Brotherhood are the Arab league’s main concern now, they’re the group destabilizing the region and causing the economic downturns in so many countries, and until the war in Syria ends, security and economic conditions won’t change for anyone in the immediate region.
