On January 18, a blast hit a patrol of the Syrian Police in the southern city of Daraa, killing an officer and wounding several other people.
The patrol was passing in Busra Square when an improvised explosive device went off. The officer, Captain Fares Ibrahim Khalil, was killed on the spot while two of his colleagues were wounded by the blast. Three civilians who were passing near the patrol at the time of the attack were also wounded.
Busra Square is located in the northern part of Daraa city, commonly known as Daraa al-Mahata, where most residents are supporter of the government.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, yet. However, ISIS remains the main suspect. The terrorist group’s cells carried out attacks in Daraa in the past. Moreover, they maintained a network of hideouts in the southern part of the city, known as Daraa al-Balad, until November of last year, when government forces and local fighters conducted a counter-terrorism there.
The operation in Daraa al-Balad was only one of many which targeted ISIS cells and commanders in Daraa last year. Yet, the situation in the governorate still unstable as evident by the deadly blast in Busra square.
Government forces and local fighters will have to improve coordination and continue joint operations in order to counter the threat posed by ISIS and other terrorist groups in Daraa.

ISIS seemes to be the man suspect but facts are all for very good reasons are hostile to Assads comming there.
As writen before several times maps shoud cover contested areas. Assads only control areas where their miliraies are there pointing guns. As soon as they leave to the next village or town its someone else.
Worse then that is those many hostile ones not even are united and frigh each other too.
