At the end of December 2023, Russian military sources reported the destruction of a group of foreign mercenaries in the area of Avdeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The claims were supported photos of numerous trophies gained by Russian servicemen. They trophies included a GoPro camera of one of the foreigners.
The Russian military continues publishing videos from this very GoPro camera, which shows the military operations of foreign mercenaries on the Ukrainian frontlines in the summer.
Russian military sources provided details of the operation near Avdeevka, which resulted in the destruction of a special group of foreigners. The group, which included English-speaking mercenaries and at least one Ukrainian servicemen, attempted an attack on Russian positions. The attack failed and the group was destroyed.
Earlier, two US military instructors and Polish mercenaries were captured in the Avdeevka area.
On January 4, 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense revealed details of the operations and losses of foreign mercenaries in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
Almost 6, 000 foreign mercenaries who fought in the ranks of the Ukrainian army have been eliminated in the zone of the Special Military Operation.
More than 13, 5000 foreign mercenaries arrived in Ukraine during the war.
- More than 8.5 thousand of them came from Europe,
- more than 1.7 thousand from Asia,
- more than 2.7 thousand from North and South America,
- more than 220 people from Africa.
According to the military department, Russian troops eliminated over 5,9 thousand mercenaries during their military operation, and more than 5,6 thousand people left Ukraine. Currently, about 1,9 thousand foreign mercenaries are fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported that foreign states have supplied the Armed Forces with over 1.6 thousand units of rocket and artillery weapons, more than 200 units of anti-aircraft missile systems, more than 5.2 thousand units of armored weapons and over 23 thousand drones.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 54 countries provide support to Ukraine, with financial assistance amounting to more than $203 billion.
The Russian military says that more than 500 satellites of the United States and NATO countries are working in the interests of the Ukrainian army. More than 70 of them are military and reconnaissance spacecraft, the rest are commercial dual-use ones. Also, more than 20 thousand terminals of the Starlink satellite system are used for the APU to organize management and communication.

the russians also use tape on their uniforms to differentiate between friend & foe and prevent friendly fire! i believe the russian & ukrainian armed forces have similar uniforms also, and that is also a factor with the colored tape on their uniforms.

you do realize that the american military has stated that the russians are now one of the most combat ready forces in the world hardened by war. they also admitted that americans aren’t ready to die where as the russians aren’t afraid of death. lastly in a war between the two, nato cannot achieve a victory without air superiority. the russians still aren’t using the maximum potential of their aa as stated by american sources.
