The Georgian parliament stands still but the opposition supported by the West does not give up and continues attempts to stage another Maidan revolution. The protest continue in the capital Tbilisi for the fourth day in a row after the government suspended EU accession negotiations. LINK
President Salome Zurabishvili is trying her best to lead Georgia to a coup d’etat. She refuses to leave her post, even after her terms expire in mid-December. Zurabishvili assures the public that there is allegedly no legitimate parliament that would elect a new president.

The French citizen Zurabishvili is largely supported (controlled) by the European Union. The EU is already openly shown its support to the coup d’etat in Tbilisi following the example of Kiev in 2014. In fact, the Europeans are calling on Prime Minister Kobakhidze and founder of the Georgian Dream party Ivanishvili to surrender power. The new head of EU diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, declared that the EU does not rule out the imposition of sanctions against Georgia and restrictions on the issuance of visas amid the ongoing protests. Kallas warns Tbilisi that violence against ‘peaceful demonstrators’ is unacceptable.
The Georgian authorities do not respond to their provocations and adhere to their position. Tbilisi is not going to make any concessions under street pressure. The government refused any repeated parliamentary elections, no one will resign under pressure. They stress out that Zurabishvili will have to leave her presidential post.
The security forces are acting strictly within the law but the ‘peaceful demonstrators’ do not stop the escalation.
The daily rallies continue in front of the country’s parliament building in the capital. Every day, the they quickly turn to pogroms. Demonstrators are erecting barricades, throwing Molotov cocktails at the police and trying to blind the officers with lasers. They also attack with homemade flamethrowers with fireworks. The protesters continue attempts to broke into the parliament building.
In their turn, the police use water cannons to disperse violators. More than a hundred people were detained. Dozens were injured, including police officers and firefighters.

Despite the threats from the West, the ruling party is clearly demonstrating its calmness. No pathetic photos of young girls in front of the police or wounded protesters cause no pity among the population. The Georgians no longer believe the empty claims about the Western democracy and ‘stolen elections’ in their country. Prime Minister Kobakhidze concluded that unlike Ukraine in 2013, Georgia has “strong institutions and wise people,” so the Maidan scenario will not be played in the country.
