Some 120 ISIS terrorists have been killed in clashes with government forces near the Kuweires Airbase in the eastern part of Syrian province of Aleppo, the Hezbollah media wing reported on December 23.
ISIS units allegedly attacked the Syrian army and its allies in the Kuweires Airbase in the morning on December 23, but faced a fierce response by pro-government forces and were pushed to withdrew from the area.
However, pro-government sources have not provided photos or videos from the area. ISIS rejects reports about the casualties.
The government controlled areas from the South to the North present a dilema for defence against both so-called moderate and Daesh forces because the borders are too long and obviously porous.. The army should quickly squeeze the large pocket of rebel controlled province of Idlib and refocus on fighting the ISIL demons from the EAST. The demon forces still have the initiative to dent government controlled areas at the Homs parallel and eventual alianate the government controlled areas into North and South which will be unfortunate. Similar attacks must be carried out on all remaining pockets of resistance around and east of the Damascus Province, In the process some villages may be liquidated but then that’s the price of war.
