Over 100 Missiles Launched, “Most Of Them” Intercepted By Syrian Forces (Photos, Videos)

The Russian Defense Ministry has commented on a joint US, British and French missile strike on Syria.

According to the Russians, the US, France and the UK have launched over 100 cruise and air-to-surface missiles on Syria and most of them were intercepted by the Syrian Air Defense.

“None of cruise missiles launched by the US and its allies did not enter the zone of responsibility of the Russian air defenses, covering objects in Tartus [naval facility] and Hmeymim [airbase located in the Latakia province],” the defense ministry announced.

The Russian military added that two US warships had carried out the attack from the Red Sea, as well as tactical aviation over the Mediterranean Sea and B-1B bombers from al-Tanf area had been involved.

SF wants no note that, according to local sources, the situation on the ground remains unclear. The real number of targets shot down by the Syrian Air Defense Forces is unknown.

The strike took place on the day when the OPCW experts are set to start a probe into the alleged chemical attack in Douma. This move is another example of the double-faced policy implemented by the US-led bloc.

Bravo and congratulations to the brave SAA and allies for all the intercepted missiles.

I’d say the S-200 systems and Pantsir systems did their jobs…….if they moved equipment and moved men the damage will be limited to maybe just structural and not personnel and equipment….

Brad Isherwood

Pantsir,BUK M2E and other mobile SAMs + Area Jamming either Russian and or Iranian. Reports of cruise missiles bring deflected by jamming is news cycle Syria.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Syria now has it’s own Jamming technology was tested against the 8 cruise missiles fired by the Israeli Jets recently. Russia has new technology deals with Syria and Iran since they are allowing the Russians to build a base there with supplying of S-400 systems and new pantsirs along with technological transfers.

Brad Isherwood

I understand you’ll be pissed off,.. Russia assisted Syrian Airdefence with radar vectors the cruise missile attack. S 400,…Russian Area Jamming ….were not involved.

Syria’s Point airdefence shined….high Fives! : )

Iran is the principle testing Area denial Jamming in Syria**

Putin is Compromised. …will not go against Netanyahu.

I’m sorry……it’s frustration and smashed Vodka glass here.

Iran has their own S 300 version,…BUK M2E. .other mobile SAM systems. Maybe Syria invite China in to test their toys.

Putin is Netanyahu /Chabad Lubavitch. …Limo driver. Choose your favorite non Russian vodka. Finnish Vodka is OK Funeral Dirge music. ….Russia has no Czar : (

Well the apparently did exactly what I said in this discussion and moved assets and let the damage be only structural damage in total and not personnel or equipment damage happen.

PZIVJ

Maybe 130 launched, but Syria is not really harmed. :)

paul ( original )

You could well be correct. I hope you are. But is not the real damage done by the west being able to do these things and get away with them? The thing is regardless of the damage the point could be that the west has yet again asserted that it can attack and there is nothing anyone can do about it? Or indeed dare do about it.

goingbrokes

No major damage to Syria, thank god, but the west slides ever deeper into fascism. No public discussions and debates, no government consultations, No city hall debates, nothing. Criminal overlords are totally out of control and people have no say anymore. Unless they offer unquestioning support. George Orwell told us about this.

Joe Dirt

USA just getting rid of old technology!

you have no idea what new technology the USA has for the world!!!

You can call me Al

Everywhere – even the Yank MSM – I don’t think it was 90%, but nearer 70+ but still damn good with old USSR equipment.

An embarrassing failure.

Joe Dirt

How old is the tomehawk?

Like I said getting rid of old technology! LOL

michael Harrison

invaluable anti-missile training experience for iran and russia

Starlight

Not really, the main defense systems across Syria were inactive- by design. You see, during a probing attack like this, the USA has high flying space planes and satelites examining the electo-magnetic spectrum across Syria as the missiles fly in. So if Russia decides not to actvate a full blown defense (as in this case), it must keep as many systems DARK as possible so the yanks do not get essential intellgence and the capability, location and communications nature of the defense grid.

When it is time for the coalition to invade, the first order of business is taking out all defensive installations and the communication systems used to co-ordinate them. Russia wants that info as secret as possible in the (very) unlikely possibility it chooses to fight back in the future.

So any missiles taken out this time were eliminated with VERY low rent tech. The one exception MAY be the british air launched missiles- but that’s just a rumour today.

Joe Dirt

The USA is just getting rid of old technology! Lol

You have no idea what kind of new death the USA has for the world!!!!!!!!

Mmuuuuhahamhahahahhaahahh

Kell McBanned

Id say both Russia and America has surprises up their sleeves

Tim Webb

Why are these dirty swine allowed to do this with impunity? These are lawless, criminal regimes, and it is high time they were held to account, in blood, for their actions. And as for the vilest of the vile, Blair, being given airtime to support even more bloodshed, his air should be withdrawn from him, permanently.

Daniel Castro

iustitia patiens et non deficient

SnowCatzor

Unfortunately the current uni-polar world order allows these criminals to get away with it. Because who is gonna punish them? The UN… fat chance.

John Wallace

Those with the biggest sticks do as they please. Hasn’t changed from caveman days till now.

Starlight

Grief and anger is everything we should feel. But the Human Race, since the first organised religion set in motion the plan to wipe out all the other intelligent ape descended species on the Earth (Humans were just one of many- just as there are 7- I think- Ape species existent today), has allowed itself to fall into the hands of self-serving leaders who LOVE to mass murder.

Blair is a literal demon (that the Law of Life obliged to reveal his TRUE form before he could be elected into real power- google: tony blair demon eyes- and NO, the poster was not part of any form of electioneering ever witnessed in british history- and besides after his election victory, Blair’s first guest at no.10 was Margaret Thatcher- and NO this was NOT protocol, his predecessor was John Major).

As a demon given authority by the free will of a vast number of Human minds, Blair is extremely powerful. As king of the Fabians, Blair inherited the most powerful throne in ‘hidden’ politics. And Blair notably converted to catholicism to take charge of the Church of Rome as well (which is why recent jewish wargames in Israel involved all the most important catholic powers).

But today Blair lacks a PUBLIC title so dumb-dumbs think him ‘harmless’.

This MI6 false flag is 100% Blair, as was 9/11. But for the Deep State to win, we have to fall for all their tricks first. Many people witness the NATO actions in Syria and feel sick to their soul. This is undoubtedly a problem for the Deep State.

The Deep State counters with a LOT of trolling on all public forums, to make ordinary people feel hopeless and helpless and isolated. Zionism eating like a cancer into the character of people like Putin does massive harm as well- since those we hope to save us end up betraying us. One cannot serve the jewish cause AND serve Humanity at the same time.

You’ve watched as at the UN, leader after leader condemned Assad for ‘gassing’ his own people, but not even Russia condemned the jews for headshoting unarmed protesting kids in Gaza. How can a world with leaders as evil as this lead us down any path except that which leads to hell?

Did you know this site, Southfront, won’t even mention the greatest threat to the racists of Israel for a GENERATION, Ahed Tamimi, because Team Putin won’t allow it.

All we have are tears of rage and frustration at the actions of ALL our leaders.

Gerry Hiles

Crazy. I didn’t think that the Empire of Chaos would do it, at least until they had all of their assets in place in the Mediterranean, but an optimistic interpretation is that they were testing Syrian/Russian defences from a safe distance, before risking an aircraft battle group getting sunk. Well now they know that Syria is defended, so perhaps they won’t launch a full assault/start World War the Last.

Daniel Castro

They had to do it before the OPCW started the investigation. This is what desperation does.

Igor Dano

The missiles have been shot from Red Sea. Flew over Jordan Saudi arabia and Iraq.

Panthera Pardus

To avoid a Russian counterstike should the operation not go as planned .. if I remember correctly the frogs have declared they would have been shooting from Mediterranean 380 km away from Syria

Gerry Hiles

Very crafty and all air to ground, I’ve read, so no launch sites/ships for Russia to destroy – yet.

Bob

US, Britain and France firing missiles on a war torn third world country – it’s just what NATO bullies do.

Starlight

Scumbag calls Syria “third world”, and gets the big upvote here- why am I so not surprised.

A jew will always call the other industrialised nations of the Middle East “third world”, while NEVER using the term CORRECTLY to describe the wahhabi gulf states that partner Israel.

John Wallace

a starlight is something you put in the ceiling to let the light in. Doesn’t look like much light is getting through in your case.

Daniel Castro

He is certainly a hasbara disinformation agent..

outer_rl

Technically, “First World”, “Second World” and “Third World” were created as political labels, not economic or wealth labels. The capitalist, pro-western countries were first world. The socialist, pro-Soviet were second world. The unaligned, neutral countries proudly defined themselves as the third world. However that label came to be applied to any impoverished country, even if it was capitalist and allied to the USA, so properly defined as a dirt poor first world country.

Since we’ve returned again to a new cold war, Syria, and other countries allied to Russia, should be properly referred to as the second world.

Neutral countries – like super rich Switzerland – should be properly referred to as third world.

Richard M

Except that language morphs over time so the meaning of words becomes what the people believe it means, not necessarily what they originally meant.

You can call me Al

Blame the Chinese – “Chinese whispers” !!

Matt Lazarus

Like British empire before it, US empire is going bankrupt. Americans are too drugged up to wage war anymore, and US can’t even manage to operate their own railroads or subways systems. US is a joke, ruled by someone who used to be court jester.

Rob

If Syrian army liberate their land from bastards of US, UK and France then they will proclaim it with chemical attack.

You can call me Al

The thing is, it is not a 3rd World Country, war torn yes, but it is a fantastic Country (was) with extremely nice, educated, polite people – even away from the cities. All religions mixed together, all people Syrian.

This war was manufactured – it really is as simple as that.

Bob

Yes, grasp your point – the term third world was used in general sense to describe current impact of war on Syria – its international financial assets are frozen by US and EU, its economy is constrained by heavy raft of US and EU sanctions, its urban infrastructure and core utility provision assets have been looted and destroyed by both militants on ground, and by NATO bombing campaigns from above. To all of this NATO just doubled down in a fit of pique and sent more destructive force.

You can call me Al

Sorry for my misunderstanding.

My claim to fame is that I was on the last plane to the UK out of Syria, the day before the 1st Gul war and I still have good feelings and memories about Syria.

Richard M

$300,000,000 to make the roosters crow early in Damascus. Whoo hoo! :D

outer_rl

Trump’s got to put money into the pockets of the military-industrial complex or the politicians they bribe will impeach him. He drops bombs every time things get sticky in the big cases.

Richard M

Trump’s foreign policy is a mirror of Obama’s. The Globalist Corruptocracy has long arms.

John Wallace

Doesn’t matter who is President as they all do as they are told. Remember Kennedy and the Coup .. Every President since has followed the rules..

Richard M

I was a wee lad, but I do indeed recall Kennedy’s fate. Unsurprisingly, Trump has been given an “Offer he can’t Refuse”.

John Wallace

A wee lad .. mmm that tells a story . this side or across the ditch. Yes agree, I said just after he agreed on the bible he was told , who gets it Ivanka or Barron , now do as you are told which explains his sudden change .McCain and Graham are both sucking on the same sausage.

Daniel Castro

Trump’s only advantage it is took a little longer for the Deep State to regain the control they had lost with his victory.

He also needs to at least attempt to fool his support base.

Richard M

The domestic implications will be interesting to observe. McCain and Graham are orgasmic with glee. I expect similar giddiness from the Dims.

You can call me Al

Have a look at the comments section on this – http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/04/14/pentagon-us-allies-launched-105-missiles-in-syria-successfully-hit-all-three-targets.html

They really have no idea (with a few exceptions)….very off putting and rather sad to read.

Richard M

I know. http://www.elise.com/quotes/hermann_goering_-_the_people_can_always_be_brought_to_the_bidding_of_the_leaders

You can call me Al

Nice link and very true.

Thanks.

outer_rl

I’m still hoping not. He’s let the Iraqi government retake control of their country, and he stopped helping the Islamist rebels in Syria. The Kurdish and Turkish problems are not solved, but despite his intermittent psychopathic outbursts every time he gets scared that they may impeach him, I think progress is possible.

Richard M

At the least, Trump doing the opposite of what he campaigned on is a very bad sign. 0 and Hillzebub delivered nation after nation to Daesh, Qaida or Brotherhood via their Arab Spring canard. Trump promised to stop that insanity.

Oscar Silva Martinez

LOL I noticed that too

Starlight

And that 300 mill came out of Putin and Blair and Trump’s pocket- oh wait NO, it came out of the pockets of the lowly suckers, people like you (and I). So I’m a bit puzzled at your crowing.

Richard M

It’s called sarcasm. :-/

Joe Dirt

Not sure where you are getting you numbers from!!!! Lol

The cost was much lowrr than that. And by the way it’s all pocket change to the USA!!! LOL we rich bitch!!!!

Richard M

So why is US infrastructure on a par with Bangladesh and Zimbabwe?

Richard M

Actually you are correct. I merely calculated the missile cost X the number of missiles fired. I should have included the fleet deployment costs. So the actual figure is closer to a billion.

Eouz Cuemarz

US, UK, and France are bunch of cowards. Sooner or later their naval forces will be patrolling in the South China Sea, and stir another trouble in the region.

TheSecular

90 % of the Missiles have been intercepted. The Attack has Failed!!!

Toni Liu

Uraaaaaaaa, that shit gold quality missile wasted down the drain

TheSecular

HURRAY HURRAY THE JAYSH AL ARABI SOURI HAVE DONE IT!

King Tudor777

I hope it’s true. However, where does this information come from?

Starlight

There’s stuff all over the net. The most interesting claim is that all the missiles fired from british planes (of british design) were eliminated in flight. But i wouldn’t trust any info that hasn’t baked across the next couple of days.

King Tudor777

RT is reporting that all the 12 missiles fired at Dumayr airbase were intercepted.

Starlight

If one thing is clear it is that NOTHING is clear yet.

-Not the weapons deployed in Syria in self defense

-Not the full range of US (and possibly Israeli) targets -Not the proportion of missiles successfuly blocked

One thing is CLEAR, tho. This is just the beginning. The MI6 false flag continues its narrative next week, this time back to ‘russia’ and novichok.

And I’ll tell everyone here one VERY obvious thing. The whole complicated play that unfolded across the last three weeks was NOT needed to allow trump to missile strike ‘again’ a few ’empty’ buildings. If your memory is not like a goldfish, you’ll recall just what minor build up Trump needed as an excuse last year for his cruise missile strike, and it sure as heck didn’t require a coalition with anyone.

UK and France participation risks REAL blow-back in each nation, so the pay-off must be very very very good indeed to be worth it. So a repetition of last year, that the yanks could have trivially done ON THEIR OWN, was NEVER the intention. As I have said, this was just a probing action- the real-deal comes soon.

testme2

The saudi clownprince knows exactly how much the pay-off was.

John Wallace

Not sure where it says 90% of them were intercepted but it does say some or not sure exactly how many. However as you were there counting them as they were coming in and ascertained 90% didn’t do their job … or because I don’t believe American bullshit doesn’t mean I believe yours. First causality of war is the truth and this one is no different. My rules , tell one lie and I never believe another word you say..

velociraptor

90% :DDD dream, boy! :DDDD

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Heard it is 80-90% interception rate so he can say that anyways as US air Defense can barely manage a 36% interception rate.

Trut Tella

The kike scum must pay for this. If Russia will not do it, we will have to engage in individual actions against them.

Hansi Hintern

“None of cruise missiles launched by the US and its allies did NOT enter”

This sentence doesn’t make sense in that context, the NOT is probably wrong. Please, southfront guys, as a general advice, get a spellchecker software and a human proofreader (native speaker would be best).

Starlight

Ah- people whose first language is English can always untangle the mistranslation. It’s harder for people whose second language is english – for non-native speakers usually rely on proper form.

EoF

Wow. I didn’t think the yanks would actually do it. Good job SAA!

Nevins Harding

Clearly, the france, uk, and us (fukus) is serving as the terrorist’s air force and trying to protect their assets they armed.

JEinCA

Trump, May and Macron…The Three Stooges.

velociraptor

you forgot the cut boy in tel aviv

Raafael Novaes

Anothers medias claim “20 missiles intercepted” who is correct???

SnowCatzor

If the US attacked, this was exactly the outcome I was hoping for.

– Extremely limited damage (haven’t even heard of any killed yet – might be only a few). – Most missiles intercepted. – Russia not forced to act. – Syrian government fully intact and now has more public support.

Congrats to the SAA, it looks like Damascus is very well defended. US/UK/France will be embarrassed at their lackluster performance.

Igor Dano

Syria has 50 Pancirs. If each of them would be in the right position to intercept and each of them makes a hit, then only 50 of 120 would be shot down.

Only the yews and their vasals know, by the telemetry, wether they hot. We shall see it layer. Anyhow, I wish the death of yews amd their vasals. Long live free planet, long live Bashar and brave Syrian people.

Daniel Castro

Pantsir shoot with point defense too, not only missiles.

Also, they have s200.

Bob

Recall reports that Russia shipped 40 additional Pantsir S-1 units to Syrian in last week.

SnowCatzor

Pantsirs can fire at multiple targets at once, and not all of the tomahawks came in at once. That, combined with the other AA platforms, means it’s quite possible they intercepted a large amount of them.

Lao Tou

Russia should break diplomatica relations with London, Paris and Washington right now.

outer_rl

Why? It sounds like they reached agreement with Russia, which is why only fields and empty buildings were targeted.

Richard M

Just like Obama’s war on ISIS! :D

paul ( original )

How about as a response pin point strikes on all american bases in Syria with tactical nuclear weapons?

Daniel Castro

Why such a ridiculous overkill?!

And it would poison Syria and the region…

paul ( original )

You don’t know much about radio activity do you?

Daniel Castro

What I know it is at least on the immediate are around the strike it will be contaminated to a high level.

Here in Brazil we had an incident in the 80’s when a single capsule of Cesium-137 was sould in the scrap by mistake, it fell on the hand of kids and contaminated an entire neighborhood.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goi%C3%A2nia_accident

“after a forgotten radiotherapy source was taken from an abandoned hospital site in the city. It was subsequently handled by many people, resulting in four deaths. About 112,000 people were examined for radioactive contamination and 249 were found to have significant levels of radioactive material in or on their bodies.”

That’s enough for you?

paul ( original )

Yes but the point you yourself are making is the effects are local. There was no ‘regional’ catastrophe. No one claims that radiation is not dangerous. But consider the usa conducted many nuclear test within sight of Los Angeles. Nevada was not poisoned. Did some extra people die because of radiation. Well no body counted but I am sure there were. So yes some areas of desert will probably be contaminated. But this is terrible war. Do you think those cruise missiles are some how clear, surgical and pin point. No they leave mangles bodies. Any way I have said all I wish to here. Hardly worth too much effort on a thought experiment.

Ivan Freely

FOAB would do the job. Or use bioweapons and let them “feel” it before they succumb from it.

paul ( original )

Yes good lateral thinking.

Whacko

I wish I was there to join the SAA to kill the axis of evil namely US, UK and France.

Michał Hunicz

Can you send me some credible sources about Syrian casualties?

Panthera Pardus

Is there a final and reliable tally of the missile intercepted ? I am particularly interested about the performance of the tricoloured frogs ? ??

RusskiiTroll54

73 out of 103 were intercepted, thats what they say for now…

Sephy

You will never find.

outer_rl

Sounds like Mattis managed to reach agreement with Russia over which empty fields the missiles would target, so the Russians stood down their anti-missile defences.

All the aircraft involved were only carrying cruise missiles which they launched from outside Syrian airspace. So even with Russian agreement, they were too scared to come close.

paul ( original )

You could well be right. But it leaves a very bad taste. All I can say is I hope it is not so. This idea that Russia has to let the west strike them providing it is not too hard is worse than a policy of appeasement.

outer_rl

Looking back at ww2, I think the appeasers were probably right, Britain and France weren’t ready for war. If they had waited and rearmed for another couple of years, maybe France could have resisted Nazi Germany.

paul ( original )

I agree. I was not really thinking in terms of WW2, just a general principle.

badhop

Half billion dollars in one hour. Millions of refugees can be feed, but they do not care about Syrian people, they have there own goals.
