Over 180 Syrian & Russian Airstrikes Targeted Greater Idlib In Last 48 Hours (Videos)

Support SouthFront

Syrian and Russian warplanes carried out more than 180 airstrikes on Greater Idlib over the last 48 hours, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.

According to the London-based monitoring group, the airstrikes on July 5 and 6 covered several towns and villages in the northern, northwestern Hama countryside as well as in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Step News, an Idlib-based outlet, released several videos of the airstrikes showing a Mi-8\17 helicopter and an Ababil-3 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) and a Su-24M2 of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

In the late hours of July 5, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies launched a ground attack on positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in northern Hama. However, the army repelled the attack. The intense Syrian and Russian airstrikes on Greater Idlib were likely a response to this failed attack.

now this is all good but the issue i have is that its useless yes they kill alot of militants but the SAA is so useless that they will simply runaway form the most basic attack…

You can’t win wars from the air. You win wars Only with boots on the ground . But the SAA run out of boots.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

yeah, they said that when Russia entered the war and within a month ISIS had no oil revenue and were on the back foot and have been ever since.

Apart from the ISIS soldiers who just meltred into the ranks of SDF (as the USA simulated fighting ISIS) All other rebels left were moved to idlib where russia and syria can wipe out all the american trained al qaeda left in syria) Liberating the oilfields of syria from SDF terrorists will be something to see. Syria have already stated SDF will ever leave that land or be put underneath it

Free man

Wishful thinking is good when you talk with your friends in the pub not for winning wars. If Hezbollah and the Iranian forces are not going to help in Idlib, it is better to end this war, because the SAA can’t conquer Idlib. East Syria has only a political solution. Only a fool will let the SAA fight against the US Air Force.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

why would the US airforce protect al qaeda in idlib? delays have been to avoid false flag chem attacks and see what Turkey was up to with operation olive branch. Turkey want to kill SDF as much as the next guy mate. They just thought they could use their terrorist proxies to do it. and Russia uses mercernaries to be ground tropps in places like Aleppo. same shit different toilet

Boots they got, money they don’t. EU and US sanctions against Syria has to hurt and the USA’s proxies are sitting on Syria’s oil wealth. They are running up a tab with Russia but Russia doesn’t have deep pockets and Syria isn’t a good investment these days.

Remember what Russia’s mission was going into this conflict. They said ‘if not Assad the who” implying that Syria’s status quo although not ideal was better than any other alternative. And they said they didn’t want the contagion to spread or the 25,000 Russians fighting for ISIS to return home alive. The Russian mission was never to pay Assad’s bill for him or protect him from Israel at the cost of Russian lives. The goal was to avert a crisis and achieve stability.

I agree, except regarding the issue of boots. After eight years of war, it seems that most of the Syrian soldiers lack motivation and skills.

Without a ground offensive on Idlib, these bombing actions are wasting of time since terrorists will come again with better weapons privided by Turkey (NATO member).

These airstrikes must be backed up by a sustained ground offensive. The terrorists in Idlib must be destroyed and all of Syrian territory liberated.

Breaking News…..IRAQI ARMY OFFICER ..CIA……PMU……. US and ISRAEL

Sunday 7 Jul 2019 / Tehran – 11:38 / GMT – 07:08 Hezbollah Releases Audio Files of Iraqi Officer’s Phone Coordination with CIA against Hashd Al-Shaabi TEHRAN (FNA)- Iraq’s Hezbollah popular group released a series of audio files revealing phone talks and Whatsapp chats between a senior Iraqi officer in al-Anbar province and the US spy agency, CIA, against Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi (popular forces). The audio files disclosed contacts between Mahmoud al-Falahi, the commander of al-Anbar operations in the Iraqi army, with a CIA agent who is an Iraqi national. The CIA agent asked al-Falahi to provide him with the geographical coordinates of the existing military bases at the borders between Iraq and Syria “to be attacked by the US and Israeli air forces”. He also told al-Falahi to meet with “the US army and intelligence service commanders in Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan region or at the US forces’ base in al-Habaniyeh” in Western Iraq. During the conversations, al-Falahi provided the detailed coordinates of military bases in al-Anbar to the agent. Hezbollah described the audio files as documents showing al-Falahi’s “plot against the Iraqi army, security, Hashd al-Shaabi and resistance forces “, warning that his spying for the CIA and Israeli Mossad spy agencies has endangered Iran’s national security. Iraqi security sources disclosed in 2016 that Washington was exerting pressure on the Baghdad government to end Hashd al-Shaabi’s partnership in war against ISIL and dissolve the militia army that has the lion share in the war on terrorism in the country. “The US government has conveyed the message to the Iraqi government through its diplomats that there is no need to Hashd al-Shaabi forces and their role should come to an end,” a senior Iraqi source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told FNA at the time. A senior member of the Iraqi parliament revealed last month the US plots and attempts to dissolve Hashd al-Shaabi with pressures on Iraq’s government after the popular forces regained control over Iraq’s borders with Syria. The Arabic-language al-Ma’aloumeh news website quoted Odai Awad as saying that the US was pressuring Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to force him act against Hashd al-Shaabi. He referred to the US embassy’s contacts with the ISIL commanders, and said certain regions in Iraq are showing allegiance to the ISIL again in a way that a number of Iraqi security commanders have compared the situation to the situation in 2014. Awad said that the US pressures started after Hashd al-Shaabi forces retook control over the Iraqi-Syrian borders, adding that at present, some measures are being adopted against Hashd al-Shaabi on the political and international scene in a bid to disturb the public opinion in freed areas.

SAA has more then anough resource to take Idlib even pro rebel sources amid that , but as soon as the Idlib offensive started old rebels held territories started uprising again. Roadblocks, checkpoint, patrols, all around Syria take up a huge amount of resources of the SAA infantry stock.

Even if the Idlib ground offensive is a success for the SAA there’s huge KIA toll, leaving the rest of Syria unprotected .

The need Iranian militias, on the front-line or rear guard to make is work.

A combination of political and logistic is keeping the idlib ground offensive on hold, turning it into a artillery/bombing attrition warfare.

Reminds me of news reporting back in the US Vietnam days when US corpgov was trying to convince Americans they were winning.

Looks like the US got their “Russian Vietnam”. Just like Vietnam the enemy gets their weapons from a world power. (Turkey/US/UK/France et all) Like Vietnam the country is divided. Like Vietnam Syria has their Ho Chi Min Trail (Turkey). Like Vietnam there are constant air raids that do little good.

Like Vietnam, It’s now a war of attrition.

Ooga Booga

SAA could take Idlib any time they wanted. The problem is the militants have nowhere left to go and would all have to be eliminated.
