More than 6,000 people, including 3,000 militants, have left eastern Aleppo in the first 24 hours of the evacuation operation.

In the first 24 hours of the evacuation operation, the eastern part of the Syrian city of Aleppo has been left by some 6,462 people, including 3,000 militants, a statement of the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria revealed on Friday. The people were transported by nine convoys.

“In the first 24 hours of the operation, the Russian reconciliation center withdrew nine convoys carrying 6,462 people, including more than 3,000 militants and 301 wounded,” the statement reads.

In addition, according to the center, servicemen of the Russian reconciliation center have continued the withdrawal of militants and members of their family from eastern Aleppo.

“The withdrawal of militants and their family members out of eastern regions of Aleppo via vehicles continues at present under the supervision of servicemen of the Russian reconciliation center,” the center’s statement said.
