On September 18, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the Syrian Republcian Guard (SRG) officially crossed the Euphrates River and engaged ISIS terrorists on its eastern bank.
The SAA and the SRG advanced on ISIS positions in the Saqr Island and captured a major part of it. According to pro-government sources, ISIS units withdrew towards the Kanafat bridge in the northern part of the island.
Separately, government troops liberated the village of Sabha and entered the villages of Marrat and Mazlum on the eastern bank of the Euphrates.
The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq also confirmed that government forces have crossed the Euphreates following multiple airstrikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force.
Amaq said that ISIS members conducted 2 VBIED attacks against government troops in Marrat and Mazlum as well as a VBIED attack against the SAA in the Saqr Island. According to Amaq reports, about 40 SAA troops were killed in the clashes there.
While even Amaq has found strength to admit that the SAA is on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, a spokesman for the US-led coalition still has nothing to say about this. Howeer, he promised that the coalition “will defend itself and the SDF against threats”. Is it an attempt to blame Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance forces?

On the northeastern flank of Deir Ezzor city, government forces liberated Hawi, Zughayr, Hamad and Shumaytah villages and entered the nearby oil wells area.
Meanwhile, Kurdish militias that are a core of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released another propaganda video blaiming the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance for combating ISIS in the area of Deir Ezzor. The video was released following the confirmation that government forces crossed the Euphrates.
“If the Russian/#Syria‘n attacks continue we will use our right to legitimate defense, we will retaliate in kind.” https://t.co/vdQYqiF9CX pic.twitter.com/g05KDqYMHT

Earlier on September 18, the US asked Russia for a meeting to discuss a future of Deir Ezzor, according to the Russian media. Most likely, the US-led coalitino aims to use the ongoing anti-Syrian/Russian propaganda campaign to strengthen its position during the negotiations. The only problem that this will hardly help amid the rapid advance of the SAA.
Government troops are crossing the Euphrates River:

Looking good, watch your backs though!
“ISIS claims 2 SVBIED attacks on #SAA in Maratah & Mazloum” . In many cases this statements indicate loss of the locations or at least most of it . So I guess SAA probably have captured them .
Reading Amaq news requires a special but forgotten skills people in Eastern Europe used to interpret Pravda announcements. Similar skills are needed to translate western MSM lately.
Same skills are required today to read msm :D
ISIS’ delusions and BS claims make for a good laugh though. It’s always ‘we killed 50 SAA soldiers and 12 enemy vehicles’ when in reality they probably killed maybe 5-10 soldiers and 2-3 vehicles at most (often nothing at all).
Also I find it strange that they think losing 1-4 jihadists in every single VBIED attack (successful or not) amounts to ‘success’. I guarantee they’ve lost a lot more of their own fighters than those they’ve killed. As brain-dead as your typical VBIED driver might be, that’s still a lot of potential ground soldiers wasted.
Amaq made claim of 50 one time and when the SAA reported casualties 1 dead and 10 wounded can never really rely on ISIS or US numbers both tend to be either under reported or over reported.

They are not forgotten! Same skills are needed for BBC, etc. Czechs do not forget either. Why they, for example, support RU in the UA matter outside the most Americanized city, and that tendency only gets stronger in Moravia, and in SK across the border from there.
The so called local Deir Ezzur fighters this Zionist slave is referring to are ISIS which like them are neither locals nor Syrian, but Zio/US Nazi foreign mercenaries. These invaders will not get it their way. Deir Ezzur belongs to the Syrian people and it sole legitimate and democratically elected government. They will not succeded in stripping Deir Ezzur from the Syrian state for their Zio/Nazi colonial masters.
The Kurd spokesperson is a member of the terrorist group the PKK, doesn’t give much confidence anyways. There are too many Israeli Military intelligence officers to keep up on in the Media as Munayyer who works at CNN as a producer is one. Maybe he is working for Amaq he did run with al Nusra a lot and ISIS.
Field Marshall Terra Cotta Woolpuller spouting bullshit! His impeccable source that Munayyer is an Israeli intelligence officer is none other than Gordon Duff. Duff is a senior editor on the Veterans Today web site. In an interview in 2012 Duff stated:
“About 30% of what’s written on Veterans Today, is patently false. About 40% of what I write, is at least purposely, partially false, because if I didn’t write false information I wouldn’t be alive. I simply have to do that.”
No wonder Woolpuller admires this man!
Kurds are traitors
sweet victory …. the sweetest are yet to come against all illegitimate terrorists on syrian soil
ypg has joined forces with FSA and both are calling for a regime change and over throw of the elected Syrian government and President Assad, a sovereign nation. Although suspected for sometime it has been revealed in the past couple of weeks that the Kurds have become nothing more than proxies for greater Israel and the US pillage and plunder.
You will not see this in MSM in the west but it is obvious to those not under the spell of propaganda from the “Ministry of Truth” who look deeper than the headlines.
As can clearly be seen here, the SAA contingent which crossed the Euphrates river is too small in number to constitute a real expedition force to reclaim the preciois oilnand gas fields for the Syrian state. It looks more like a reconassance force tasked with testing the waters. The Surian government needs to deploy at least 5 thousand troops and at least 100 pieces of infantry vehicles, including tanks to carry out the task effectively. One must bear on mind that the Syrian government forces have to face a unified army of ISIS terrorists (now dubbed SDF) and the Kurdish terrorist invaders of the YPG. This Zionist Kurdish slave here has been quite frank in her threat and challenge to the sole legitimate Syrian government forces that they would attack government troops to help ISIS terrorists which she calls locals. The Syrian government forces should take up this threat and assert its fundanental right over the Eastern banks of the Euphrates river and Syria’s legitimate right to reclaim its natural oil and gas resources. So a real force needs to be assembled, more bridge pantoons need to be laid connecting the western and Estern banks of the Euphrates river and more troops need to join the operation.
First things first, Deir Zezzor air defenses will be flown in as soon as enough secure area is established that will be followed by attack air forces. In the mean time long range bombers and kaliber missiles will have to do during mop ups around Deir Zezzor.
why cant they just airdrop troops in to those oilfields?
too large area. problem with support.
how large is too large?
The SAA has to maintain a solid front line, and the Omar fields are 40 KM to the east. It looks like SAA will cut off the SDF with their river crossing ! EXCELLENT NEWS :)))
I sure hope they do :))
each pint = 1 support line. the numbers and total km of support lines ive the answer. i thimk, they could do this with 2-3 close oil fileds. better is fast attak and take them, saa simply has not enough technical powr to do this. also americans would not do such thng in amount of dozen.
it has already done saa crossed and also there is Russian foce in them . SAA AND RUSSIA AND ALLIES KNOW WHAT IS THE PYD/YPG /SDF INTENTION ARE . KURDDS OF SYRIA ARE WAITING FOR THE IRAQI KURDS INDEPENDENCE IF THAT HAPPENS THEN SYRIAN KURDS WILL DO THE SAME AND SAA AND RUSSIA KNOWS VERY WELL. SDF IS NOT TRUSTED FROM INSIDE AT ALL THATS WHY RUSSIA AND SYRIA MAIN TARGET IS AS SUWAR CITTY OR MAY BE THAT ROAD WHICH LEADING TO SHADADI
wiki reports that the losses consists of 550 men-heroes the last 2 months…someone know if this is true??
That is possible. In general going on the offensive is more costly then being on the defensive. On the other hand being constantly on the defensive and losing ground is also bad for morale, whereas constantly being on the offensive and actually taking ground is good for morale. Good morale spurs troops on, even when they take more losses. Bad morale drains the will to fight, even when you inflict more losses on the enemy.
In WWI, in the final year of the war after the German spring offensives had been halted the Allies went on the offensive. It was extremely costly, although not as costly as the battles of attrition the years before, but Allied morale was good because trench warfare had stopped, the Allied armies were on the move and steadily gaining ground. The Germans inflicted heavy losses on the Allies, but were unable to stop them. They were losing ground, being pushed out of France into Belgium and basically everybody knew that the war was being lost.
Troops under General Grant were finally allowed to pursue the confederates and they loved it. That is effective warfare. Push the enemy out of position then pursue so he does not have time to set up another major position. Definately good for moral to pursue the enemy and keep driving forward. General George Patton did that very effectively once they gave him a force to command on the beaches of France.
General George Smith Patton invasion of Normandy in June 1944. Vov, Russia and the marshals of the Red Army have already defeated Germany. Where General George Smith Patton and the US were in 1941 – 1942 – 1943 – only in June 1944. USA to Europe to stop Russia u junu 1944. Thanks USA, already 20 million Russians were dead. Patetics USA
General Grant’s troops loved it? I wonder….
In the battles of the Wilderness & Spotsylvania we lost about 300 men & last Friday the 17th we charged across a corn field about 1 P.M. in the afternoon & when we came out all we could get together was 42 men out of 220 men. The next morning the report was made out & we lost one hundred and two men killed, wounded and missing. Our company had one missing, James Phillips & two wounded. Very lucky to the other companys. Our Capt was wounded so I am in Command of the company & it is commanded by a Corporal. Also, there is’nt but one company in the Regt commanded by a commissioned officer; the most of them are sick. Capt Gorman & [Marshall] Warwick is killed & Sergt Jones and Sergt Barton are killed. Sergt Benedict, Capt Evans, Sergt Chandler are wounded. About 400 men have now been lost in the Regiment. Our company only musters 12 effective men. Co. K lost 32 men in the last charge. The grape and canister shells & bullets that pored into our ranks was awful to behold. No words can express or pen portray the awful scene through which we passed. Men falling dead & dieing all around you. We won the victory but it was dearly won. .…

Have you ever heard of the Thessaloniki front? The Thessaloniki Front shortened the First World War in one year. http://www.serbia.com/about-serbia/serbia-history/world-war-one/decisive-breakthrough/
From Ancient Greek, Freedom?
While ISIS numbers 8,000 which has been verified dead by the SAA hope they have that listed ,a lot of dead Saudis to date so far.
In Wiki everybody can write and edit what he sees as his own truth. Some write to cook and egg 10 minutes, other insist on 8 minutes and 34 seconds. 550 fallen pro gov. fighters is only true if the fallen fighters (most of them tribesmen) near Ma’ adan of some more than 300 is true when ISIS counterattacks there some weeks ago. But there is no real proof. There are losses, for sure, but it is a war against criminals. A really good overview about daily martyrs you get here: https://twitter.com/IvanSidorenko1
These terrorists have no single right under Syrian law for retaliating… what do they think? They have been filled with the arrogance of the US regime.
Good luck to SAA! and watch out for Kurds thieves!…
Judging from the Kurdish statement in the video, they are clearly in open defiance of the government and are just one more regime change group trying to take over part of Syria. The fact that they’re fighting a different regime change group doesn’t make them any different than any of the other regime change groups fighting each other. The only difference is that the Kurds have greater US and Israeli support.
I wonder how long that support will last when Erdogan tells the US to stop supporting the PKK or close their bases in Turkey.
Exactly and nothing else. Kurds are gypsy slaves of their US/Israel masters.
Thanks for this SF. Nice news!
BMWA1
Deaf, dumb and blind kid stuck up Jones’s Ass.
BBC TV and Sky have been reporting this news for the last few days.
The Kurds are at war against Syria. Bandits have no legal standing. The solution is obvious.
wipe them out, all of them :))
Thegr8rambino Its better to integrate the Kurds into the Syrian Military and get them to fight as well as block the US Turk supply chain to the Terrorists in Syria.
Agreed. I much prefer the Kurds to any of the jihadi factions that are now supposed to be switching sides.
The gambling still high right now better not to support the the kurds until we know better what they real intention after the meet saa on frontline if they shake hand together that means is 50:50 but if they kill each other, better you keep that kurd support deep in your heart or you will be hated same like other jihadist supporter
I’m 100% pro-Syrian government, and 100% pro-Bashar. My point is that it seems to me that some arrangement has to be made with the Kurds, or the hell will continue long after ISIS and the other US-backed jihadis are defeated.
and how u propose to do that?
Thegr8rambino “…and how u propose to do that?…”
Start with an Armstice.
Then, Kurds in Syria have to be offered the same rights including citizenship as other Syrians in return for following the laws of the Syrian state.
Those Kurds after being granted or refusing to accept the rights of a Syrian citizen or who refuse to follow Syrian law would have to fact arrest, trial, sentence, etc.
Would you integrate israelli spys too?
Wahid Algiers Any type of Spy in Syria has to be arrested, face trial and if found guilty has to be sentenced in accordance with Syrian Law.

So, this Col. Ryan Dillon says “it remains to be seen if the SAA has what it takes to keep it”.
If that isn’t a thinly vailed threat, I don’t know what is.
Now that ISIS has a bomb proof supply corridor courtesy of the SDF, I guess US challenges to Syrian sovereignty are now in play. Lavrov, time to start rattling cages.
That’s a veiled threat, if I’ve ever heard one.
wwinsti You are right about the US led “Terror Axis” countries logistics supply to IS. You are wrong about Lavrov, he talks to deaf ears.
I’m pretty sure you were around in late 2016, when European countries, the gulf states, and the US were threatening to bomb Syrian forces every week over Aleppo, right? Lavrov ‘s constant hammering along the rebels/Al quada must-be-seperate theme gave foot draggers the cover they needed to not formulate any plans along those lines. When Obama finally had his pieces lined up for such an attack, thevRussian Navy was too powerful in the region to risk the retaliation.
Allowing the manpad armed (the YPG has them)SDF to get within range of dier ezzor’s airfields is a tremendous mistake, and Lavrov is just the person to make it a deal killer issue.
wwinsti In 2016, Lavrov was talking to John Kerry, the guy wearing a hair piece, carpet rug, toupe, whatever you wish to call it.
Lavrov – Kerry agreed on matters and mostly implemented it.
Its 2017, Lavrov is talking with Tillerson, look at that guys head, it has the shadow of a Kippah, these type of people do not know how to talk, they only dictate or turn a deaf ear.
“Now that ISIS has a bomb proof supply corridor courtesy of the SDF”! Absolutely 100% correct! After I saw those twitter pics of American officials meeting with KNOWN isis Elders (of some sort) I just knew these scum bags made a deal with the US to open a fast path all the way to DeZ city! Unbelievable! They don’t even hide it anymore! Israel never bombs isis or al-nusra who is right next door, but they will certainly bomb the SAA! These fucking DUMB FUCKS that call themselves “American citizens” are soooooooo full of patriotic cum inside their throats and up in their assholes, they cannot comprehend for one minute that their country created, funded and continues to support ISIS! Im done with the USA! Im just done! Let em rot! De-pin the petro dollar and let those fuckers rot with their 21 trillion debt!
American USAF strike near Deir EZ Zor killed 100+ SAA soldiers, 12 Russian instructors and wounded over 120+ men, and 5 minutes after that heavy bombardment ISIS started their offensive, captured cemetery area, cut of the airport and only lifeline for 130.000 civilians… SDF UNCONTESTED captured ISIS held areas towards DeZ City, and instead of helping 130.000 civilians they held them without food and water, and started the offensive only when SAA liberated DeZ…
And they are complaining for 6 wounded and half of the building struck down??? This is like watching American MSM, they blow out of proportion all attacks on them and do not even bother to report on their strikes on other forces and civilians. USAF in MSM eyes and in their news is precise as hell, they are bombing just ISIS, no civilian casualties, no hospitals hit, no schools etc…
That is called hegemony…
To be clear … you are referring to the US Coalition attack last September, not the current action.
US Coalition attack last September 2016
The SAA bridgehead will now advance to the rail line. The SDF advance towards the oil fields will be cut off there. THIS IS FANTASTIC NEWS ! :) https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2ff94513c388dc784fe118c42fe70228887b0f02852eb9494599395ede541697.jpg
They are only a quarter mile from the road that goes down to Omar oil field. There is no hurry to go South to the oil field. After consolidation, the SAA will continue on a path toward the Northeast, toward al-Suwar. Al-Suwar is located in an adjoining river valley directly Northeast, called the Khabur river, which flows down to the Euphrates South of Deir Ez-Zor. The Khabur area has some oil and is a rich agricultural region. …
I do not see that Al-Suwar is really that important. Let the SDF struggle for the Khabur river! Meanwhile the SAA is advancing down the Euphrates towards the oilfields, and they will also have a much more solid front line.
These communications from the Kurds show how weak their position is. They are very afraid, They are totally overextended and don’t have the manpower expand their area. Their only hope is that the US will attack the SAA.
Contrary to some of the comments I read here, the SDF-Kurds are not in partnership with ISIS. True, they would love to have some ISIS deserters join their ranks, and have tried hard to recruit them, but right now they are pined down by ISIS. That is why they have not moved in 3 days.
In fact the Kurds big adventure down from the North was nothing but a desperate big gamble at the behest of the Israelis and Saudi’s. It may very well turn out to be a fatal adventure for them.
bien carajo ¡¡¡ se debe continuar en cortar el camino a los yanquis ¡¡¡
SDF: We are fighting ISIS. How dare you attack us!
Only the Russians cannot find any evidence SDF actually engaged ISIS in their illegal move on Deir Ezzor.
