Satellite imagery of the battlefield in Liman
After three days of fighting, the town of Krasny Liman located in the northern part of the Donetsk People’s Republic fell under Russian control on May 26th.
The Ukrainian units which remained in the town found themselves in a complicated position. The main bridges leading to the city of Slavyansk where one of the main strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) was located, were destroyed by the AFU as soon as Russian forces approached the town of Krasny Liman.
As a result, the Ukrainian units that were left in Krasny Liman tried to escape to the other bank of the Seversky Donets River in the area south of Yampol near the Shchurova Gora hill. However, when trying to withdraw, the AFU suffered considerable losses, falling under a massive blow from Russian aviation and mortar crews.
On May 26, the Soviet Banner of Victory was raised over the local administration building.
As a result of the clashes, the AFU suffered heavy losses, and a lot of Ukrainian servicemen surrendered. This was confirmed by the Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Fighting continues in the forests around the town of Krasny Liman, where the remaining strongholds of the AFU and those who escaped are destroyed.
The first Russian humanitarian aid for civilians will be delivered to Krasny Liman on May 28.

Large amounts of the foreign military equipment were captured by Russian forces in the town. Russian servicemen received a gift from Elon Musk. The Starlink satellite Internet complex, which was used by the AFU, was taken in Krasny Liman.

Immediately after the control over Krasny Liman was established, Russian-led forces advanced towards the city of Slavyansk. Military columns of the DPR and Russian units were spotted on their way to support the offensive.
The fighting is approaching the town of Rayhorodok located between Krasny Liman and Slavyansk, where the shelling at Ukrainian positions is already underway. The AFU artillery units are shelling on the advancing Russian forces from Slavyansk.
To the north-west of Krasny Liman, the territory in the area of Svyatogorsk is gradually coming under the control of Russian units. According to preliminary dat, the village of Paseka was taken by Russian-led forces.
The Ukrainian forces control the entire corridor directly to Severdonetsk, which means that they can retreat and regroup whenever they want while maintaining the supply lines. The Putin cockroaches can’t hold Severdonetsk with whatever’s left of their depleted force of shitty 50 year old Soviet era tanks they have left.
The have taken not control, that road is open but under the guns of the Russians, any retreating force will be annihilated. The best they can do is shed their heavy armaments and try to make it on foot in small groups.
What I am seeing is Ukraine are losing city after city and retreating, like Popasna, Lyman, It looks like Ukraine troops are withdrawing from Severodonetsk. I mean, how is Ukraine winning here, are they taking any city back from Russia?

They can retreat, but the Russians can attack from above and can hit the retreating positions, as well, with long range artillery. Russian artillery are highly trained professionals and lots of them, while the enemy is dwindling. The larger artillery that makes it to the front is taken out immediately by aircraft or other and small arms is pretty much all that can get in. Railway has been taken out and air suppression of precision missiles makes it a done mission of mop up. Then the likelihood of all the coast line taken and other strategic land.
They’ve been doing that all along. Ukranian forces have had three months of battlefield experience by now. The big difference is that Putin’s oligarchs already hate his guts because of all the billions of dollars he’s costing them. Time is not on Russia’s side.

Great news. This proves that Putin’s strategy of waging a slow and steady war in Ukraine was the right strategy. I now foresee a totally liberated Donbass in the not too distant future, and after that, well who knows what the master tactician of the Kremlin has planned to do to finish his special operation?
