After yesterday gains in eastern Aleppo, Syrian government forces are advancing against Jaish al-Fatah militants in the direction of Marjah. The goal of this operation is likely to cut off Jaish al-Fatah supply lines inside the city. In this case, the Syrian army and its allies will be able to encircle and defeat various militant units one by one.

Jaish al-Fatah leadership is likely aware of this threat. But the militant coalition does not have enough fresh manpower to repell all offensive operations by government forces on multiple fronts. Nonetheless, all will depend on the Syrian army’s ability to use their advantages in ongoing clashes on the ground.

In northeastern Aleppo, the army and Liwa al-Quds storming the militant controlled part of Hanano neighborhood. When the area is secured, militant positions near the Badin Roundabout will become under a major threat from pro-government forces. This would likely lead to fall of the militant defenses in northern Aleppo.

By now, Syrian army attacks in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Saeed and Bustan al-Basha have not resulted in significant gains. However, they play an important role in the ongoing operation, withdrawing Jaish al-Fatah manpower from other fronts.

Meanwhile, the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force have succesfully repelled any attempts of Jabhat Fatah al-Sham and its allies to regroup in the western Aleppo countryside. So, a new militant counter-attack from outside of Aleppo is now hardly possible.

T-90 MBTs belonging to the Syrian army are somewhere in the area of Aleppo:

Policy Wonk

If President Trump orders a complete cutoff of arms, training, and diplomatic support to all so-called “rebel” groups in Syria, Syria and its allies will quickly overwhelm the terrorists. We must pressure Saudi Arabia and Qatar to cut all aid too. Finally, we must deal honestly with the most dangerous rogue nation on earth—Erdogan’s emerging Turkish Ottoman Empire. He has invaded Syria and Iraq, while delivering the death blow to democratic government in Turkey. Erdogan has become Europe’s worst nightmare—a modern-day Hitler.

The jihadist are losing it today in E Aleppo, Putin has more say in this than Trump. Arabia will never stop supporting the sunnis against shia. Why is Erdogan being demonized by the western press as the next Hitler, or is Putin the next ‘great Satan’? Turkey has a right to defend it’s borders against ISUS and PKK terrorist. The jihadist problem was created by a bad US foreign policy (or lack of one). Hopefully the TU/FSA forces will stop at Al Bab (end of story),Erdogan knows his limits against SAA/RU. P.S. Turkey does not invade and destabalize other countries, causing untold death and destruction, this is the job for the western colonial powers to do. Divide and conquer?!?
