Fire in Kiev
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have recently resumed the missile and UAV strikes at military and energy infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.
On the morning of December 19, air raid alarm sounded the the city of Kiev, the Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv and Vinnytsia regions of Ukraine.
So far, ita has been officially confirmed that Russian UAVs reached their targets in the capital. On the morning, the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko confirmed the damage critical infrastructure facilities in the Shevchenko and Solomensky districts of the city. The right bank of the Ukrainian capital was cut off energy supplies. According to Mr Klichko, there were no casualties as a result of the explosions.
The Ukrainian authorities officially reported that only 5 drones achieved their goal.
However, the night attack led to a power outage in about a dozen regions of Ukraine. According to Ukrenergo, emergency blackouts are carried out in Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kiev regions and Kiev, as well as in the part of the Zaporozhye region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.
The last major attack of Russian UAVs and missiles in Ukraine took place on December 16. According to open sources, the Russian Air Force carried out 4 missile strikes and 7 air strikes by the Shahid-136 UAV, as well as 55 strikes from MLRS. All designated targets were hit.
The Russian Defense Ministry of DEfence confirmed the attack claiming that the Russian military inflicted a massive blow on the military control systems, the defense industry and the facilities of the energy system of Ukraine that provide them with energy.
The Defense Ministry said that as a result of the massive strike, the transfer of weapons and ammunition of foreign production was disrupted, the advance of reserves to combat areas was blocked, and Ukrainian defense enterprises for the production and repair of weapons, military equipment and ammunition were stopped.
“During the strikes, Ukrainian and Western air defense systems lost significant resources in an attempt to intercept special false targets,” the Ministry added.
According to local sources, the following facilities were hit on December 16:
- CHPP-5, PS Zalyutino 330kV and CHPP-2 Eshar were hit in the Kharkoc region;
- In Kiev, CHP-5, CHP-6 and Darnitskaya CHP were once again hit;
- The Zaporozhye region was reportedly hit by at least 12 strikes. The engine room of the DneproGES was damaged;
- In the Zhytomyr region, the PS Lesnaya 330kV in Korosten was hit. The substation was used to supply Kiev from the Rivne and Khmelnitsky nuclear power plants;
- The Dnieper thermal power plant was again hit by Russian forces. Presumably, the Dnieper thermal power plant in Dneprodzerzhinsk and the Pavlogradskaya 330 kV substation were hit;
- Strikes on substations were reported in the city of Odessa and in the Odessa region;
- The Kirovskaya 330kV PS was probably hit in the Kryvoi Rog region.
This should be a nightly occurrence.

A rough calculation from military academy perspective decree that: it is needed 4 MORE 80-90 Kalibr misilles into the electric denazification and Ukroreich will be at max 5% capacity. But that takes more than 2 months and off course, the ‘good will’ of the russian politiks.

Attacking secondary power facilities, that can be repair, is not strategic.
Attacking secondary transformers and substations, is of no lasting strategic value. It is at the best a distraction and of short term strategic value.

Have you ever heard of the saying Too Little, Too Late, well that saying can definitely be applied here! The Incompetent Russians should have done this on day one, but instead waited Ten Whole Months into the War, imagine how different things would have been if they have done so, maybe the Ukrainian Will to wage War would have been broken or about to as Europe enters into Winter!
