On the night of December 2, the Russian army launched another wave of strikes in Ukrainian rear regions. Explosions thundered throughout the country.
A series of Russian strikes were reported in the Vinnytsia, Poltava, Ternopil regions. In the latter, Russian strikes reportedly destroyed a military base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where NATO military instructors trained the recently mobilised Ukrainian men.
Damage was inflicted on military facilities and industrial enterprises that provided for the needs of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine in the Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions. Facilities used for the deployment of military personnel and storage of fuel and ammunition were struck in the Khmelnitsky region.
Another Russian strike destroyed the railway station in Ternopil in western Ukraine. As a result of the attack, the power lines were damaged, and half of the city was left without electricity.
A series of strikes were recorded in the city of Zhitomir and its region. Strikes destroyed targets in the town of Zvygel, including the recruitment center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as an ammunition depot and a parking lot with military equipment.
Earlier, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that less than 40% of Russian drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defense. In an attempt to hide real losses, Ukrainian military officials declare that most of Russian UAVs are always ”locally lost”. According to the Ukrainian side this term means that the drones are allegedly intercepted by Ukrainian electronic warfare means, or they run out of fuel. In fact, they simply struck their targets.
The intensity of Russian drone strikes is steadily growing. According to the Ukrainian military, the Russian military launched 2,378 UAVs, including Geran kamikaze drones, Gerber decoyed etc, in November, 2024. Last night was no exception. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian drones were spotted in the sky over four Russian regions, including the Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk regions and the Republic of Crimea. According to the Russian military, fifteen drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed by Russian air defense means. Of these, more than half were shot down in the Kursk region, 8 UAVs, 4 more drones were destroyed in the Bryansk region, 2 others in the Republic of Crimea and one drone was destroyed in the Belgorod region.
The Russian Defense Ministry concluded that in total, the Ukrainian military lost more than 37 thousand drones of various modifications since the beginning of the Russian Special Military Operation.
