The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not stop exchanging strikes on each other’s rear infrastructure in an attempt to disrupt military supplies, the operation of military and industrial facilities. The Russian military wins the daily battles, pounds Ukrainian rear, repelling Ukrainian drone strikes in Russian rear.
The night of November 11th was not an exception. The Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted another attack on the Russian border regions. Compared to the massive drone attack on the Russian capital, today’s night strike were much more timide. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 17 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed at night and in the morning. They included:
- 12 UAVs destroyed in the Kursk region;
- 1 UAV destroyed in the Belgorod region;
- 4 UAVs destroyed in the Voronezh region.
The attack was repelled by the Russian air defense forces. No significant damage was reported in the Russian rear regions.
In their turn, Russian forces continued daily night strikes on Ukrainian rear infrastructure. Russian kamikaze drones, missiles, upgraded heavy bombs attacked a number of strategically important facilities on the territory of Ukraine, including military manufacturing plants, airfields and energy supply facilities.
The attack was launched in several waves. Russian drones entered Ukrainian airspace from different directions. According to Ukrainian monitoring sources, explosions thundered in the Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Kherson, Dnipropetrivsk regions.
The attack began on the evening of November 10th. Al least one Russian Kh-59 or Kh-69 air-launched cruise missile struck the Pivdennyi Machine-Building Plant (Pivdenmash or Yuzhmash) in the city of Dnipro (Dnipropetrivsk). As a result of the strike, the assembly shop for the assembly and repair of missile and aviation systems caught fire and the military equipment, including supplied by NATO countries, was destroyed or heavily damaged.
The city of Mykolaiv came under a wave of Russian drone strikes. Ukrainian air defense failed to repel the attack. As a result several strategically important targets were destroyed. One of them was the local Kulbakino military airfield, where Russian kamikaze drones destroyed the P-18 radar station, heavily damaged the Su-24 bombers and airfield infrastructure.
Another target destroyed in the city of Mykolaiv was a logistics hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed in the industrial zone on Mayachna street. As a result of the large fire caused by the strikes, Ukrainian warehouses with ammunition and military equipment were destroyed.
Explosions were also reported in the area of the local port.
Russian forces are also destroying Ukrainian energy infrastructure that provides for the needs of the Ukrainian military. At night, Russian drones damaged the Lisova-330 substation in the town of Korosten in the Zhytomyr region. Emergency shutdowns were recorded in the Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions.
Russian forces are pounding the Ukrainian military in the eastern war-torn regions, including with their upgraded heavy bombs, which now can reach targets in the cities of Kharkiv and Zaporozhie as well as through their regions.
Russian strikes were reported in the area of the town of Vyshgorod in the Kyiv region but their results are yet to be revealed.
Kyiv is complaining that the Russian military managed to increase the production of its drones and missiles, upgrades them and increases effectiveness of its strikes, while Ukrainian air defense is depleted. Ukrainian media are spreading reports that there are negotiations about the suspension of strikes on the strategic energy infrastructure. This is allegedly Trump who is discussing this issue with Putin after Zelensky’s request. The Kremlin denied any phone calls from Washington.
