On February 25, Ukrainian military and industrial facilities came under several waves of Russian strikes. The first results of the attack were revealed by local sources at night. In the afternoon, it was revealed that numerous targets were struck throughout Ukraine.
The Russian military used both various types of missiles and kamikaze drones during the combined attacks. The targets of the strikes included places of temporary deployment of the Ukrainian military personnel, military airfields and industrial facilities.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the “defeat” of every single Russian drone; but the official claims of the Ukrainian military were refuted by the claims of the local Ukrainian authorities, who confirmed Russian strikes in different regions.
Most of the recent Russian strikes are targeting the Ukrainian rear close to the frontlines, where the AFU are accumulating large forces for their further transfer to the battlefields.
Last night, Russian forces launched several precision strikes on the Ukrainian military in the rear town of Konstantinovka. This city is a strategically important logistics hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That’s why Russian controlled aerial bombs targeted the local railway station. As a result of the strike, the building of the station was destroyed. The attack reportedly took place when Ukrainian forces were unloading a military echelon there.
At the same time, the deployment points of the AFU were destroyed in different parts of the town. According to unconfirmed reports, the targets in Konstantinovka included:
- the temporary deployment point of the 22nd Infantry Brigade of the AFU located on Ulyanovsk Street in the center of the town;
- the local school No. 8 on Belousova street in the northern part of the town, the building was used for accommodation of the 42nd Separate Mobile Brigade of the AFU;
- the dormitory of the Konstantinovsky Construction Lyceum No. 39 located on Gromova street on the south-western outskirts of Konstantinovka.
As a result of the strikes, dozens of Ukrainian servicemen were reportedly killed or wounded.
More Russian strikes in the rear areas in the DPR were reported in Kurakhovo, Selidovo, Krasnogorovka, Seversk, Chasov Yar and Novoselovka Persha.
Later, Russian strikes hit several Ukrainian military airfields in the strategic rear areas, including the large military airfield in Starokonstantinov in the Khelnitsky region and an aviation base in Martynovka in the Mykolaiv region. Another target was the Kanatovo airfield in Kirovohrad; but the AFU reportedly managed to repel the strikes.
In the Chernihiv region, Russian strikes were reported on the territory of the Belkozin plant in the town of Priluki. Another industrial facility was damaged in the Sumy region, where the workshops of Polikhim plant were damaged in the town of Shostka.
Explosions were reported in the Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Zhytomyr and Zaporozhye regions; but they could be a result of operation of Ukrainian air defense forces. any damage was not reported there.
