On October 27, Ukrainian military and energy infrastructure facilities were again attacked by Russian missiles and UAVs. Lst night, air alert sounded in the Zaporozhie, Vinnytsa, Kiev, Zhitomir, Cherkassy, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa regions.
During the night attack, Russian kamikaze UAVs struck facilities at the Kievskaya substation. At least one 750/330 kV autotransformer was destroyed. According to the local report, the smaller Belotserkovskaya substation was also hit by Russian UAVs.
This was a strategic blow to the energy system of Ukraine. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation cut the Kiev energy district off 1000 MVA of power from the Rivne and Khmelnitsky nuclear power plants. A wave of unplanned power outages hit the capital and the region. The Kiev region has other smaller sources of energy generation. Some of were already struck by Russian forces. Today, their energy is clearly not enough for the normal operation of the power system.
The Ukrainian authorities reported that as a result of missile and UAV attacks, rolling blackouts throughout the capital and the Kiev region are expected to last for a long time. Kiev is not able to stabilize the situation with energy supply in the nearest future. Electricity consumption will be limited in Kiev, as well as in Kiev, Chernihiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions.

It is reported that Russian drones destroyed energy and military infrastructure facilities in the city of Dnepropetrovsk and Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region. Russian kamikaze UAVs hit the Pavlograd Mechanical Plant. The production of components and fuel for missiles, explosives and ammunition elements was established on the territory of the enterprise.
Six explosions thundered in the city of Zaporozhye. Local authorities reported that two of them were the result of the work of the air defense, and four were the result of the strikes at the military positions of the AFU militants. There was a detonation of ammunition. The city was de-energized.
A large fire broke out in Kramatorsk as a result of a Russian artillery strike. The fire occurred on the territory of the warehouse of the USAID, located in the building of the company Interplast in the Krasnogorka area. USAID supplies weapons and ammunition to Ukraine under the guise of humanitarian aid.
Late in the evening, Russian forces with the help of the Geran-2 UAV hit a target in the Ovidopolsky district of the Odessa region. On the night of October 28, Russian forces have already struck the Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions.

Okay troll. Russians never made any statements about wanting to conquer Ukraine, or that they would do it in three days. The only ones making such statements were western politicians, pundits and news anchors. Same goes for the threats of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine. All western propaganda lies.
It doesn’t matter if Russia really wanted to conquer Ukraine or not – it made the fatal error of invading from several areas (not only Donbass), therefore it was PERCEIVED by the international community as if it wanted to conquer Ukraine and it gave substance to the western propaganda waged against it. It’s all about appearances.
Another error was the annexation of the 4 areas (DPR and LPR should have remained independent till the dust settled) because it gave substance to the propaganda that accused Russia of waging an imperialistic war against Ukraine for territorial and natural resources gains. (ridiculous for such a large country, but that’s what the western propaganda claimed and now it’s backed by the fact of the annexation)
This war shouldn’t have happened, it divided the two people forever. Macron was right that February 24th was a strategic mistake. Putin keeps claiming that they’re one people, but it doesn’t matter what HE thinks, when the OTHER PEOPLE don’t think so! It’s like Kashmir: a mess.

Well, I used to more or less sympathize with Russia’s need to secure its citizens. But my view is changing. Not only do I now doubt that Russia is actually securing the citizens of Donbass more than, say, the Minsk Agreements did, I think Russia is turning cruel and inhumane, inflicting savage conditions on Ukrainian civilians. This is sad to me. I remain a very strong supporter of the DPR/LPR, and would I like to have continued admiring Putin (although he betrayed the DPR/LPR on several occasions). But I fear, as a result of relentless harassment and persecution by the West, that Putin has turned mad, and is now enjoying the destruction of civilians rather than trying to avoid it. The Western Ukrainians have been murdering Russians for over 100 years. Russia doesn’t owe the Banderite civilians a thing. If killing them in large numbers stops them from attacking the Russian people in Donbass it is fully justified.

Russians primarily use long range bombing to “punish”. This concept is very strange and one of the reasons the Russian army fails. Strategic bombing is supposed to be co-ordinated with ground actions, the Russian army seemingly lacks the ability to co-ordinate actions or even make simple battle plans. Everything the Kremlin does is political and steeped in oligarch intrigue, nothing makes sense from a military point of view.

An act of desperation. Destroying infrastructure today is pointless and too late. It is necessary during initial attacks to disable movements in the rear, prevent supply and demoralize the enemy’s army. Shock and awe doctrine. The current destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure by drones and missiles is similar to the German V-1 and V-2 bombing of London in 1944. Nothing has changed. But we all know what happened to the Germans and their leader the following year.

Not exactly. Hitler reacted to the allied bombing campaigns over the German soil. Putin is not doing a carpet bombing but a very well aimed one. I agree that it would have been more useful do it since eight months ago. But it’s never too late. Remember, in Bosnia NATO acted with a very progressive increase. And even Allied Force in 1999 was almost 3 months long, despite the NATO fought versus a powerless Serbia.
And BTW, the V-1 campaign did actually a lot of damage. Only because allied were so strong it did not change the war, but actually did 5x times the costs to the british than the program to the germans.
If Russia wanted to they could send all of Ukraine back to the stone age overnight. This is a carefully, limited and temporary targeting of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure that serves 2 main purposes. The first is obviously to retard Ukraine’s ability to resupply its suicidal conscripts and foreign mercenaries on the front lines. The second of course is to prevent Ukraine from energizing western Europe. Notice how Russia is only destroying the infrastructure that can be repaired in a reasonable time and not causing the kind of damage to Ukraine’s energy grid that would incapacitate its energy production for up to a year or much longer. The people of Ukraine are very fortunate that Russia sees Ukrainians as its brothers and sisters many of whom are under temporary mind-control. Although there is temporary discomfort in Ukraine, I see a much brighter future for Ukrainians overall once the complete purging of the Ukrainian death cult is complete. As far as the EU is concerned, it would seem that the same corrupt empire of lies is planning on doing to western Europe what they did to the Soviet Union when it collapsed. The empire of lies is planning on usurping and snatching up German and other European industrial conglomerates and corporations for pennies on the Euro. Absolute irreversible subjugation of western Europe is on the agenda. Let’s see if the people react. Is there at least one nation in western Europe that ignites the first spark of resistance against their neoliberal corrupt leaders?

Simple, the Wester Ukranians hate the Russian speakers and Russian speakers don’t hate the Western Ukranians. The Vikings now Cossacks support Russia who were the originals, Eastern Slavic people are only defined by their language which is distinguished from the Western Slavic people who came from Poland and Czechoslovakia.
This ethnic conflict is mainly derieved from WW2 when the Western Slaves wanted to join the German, Italian and Japanese alliance but got rejected as inferior by the Germans but still fought on that side anyway, Western Slaves are being propped up by US to have another go at Eastern Slaves, the whole thing is artificial.
Let’s be realists, this won’t deter Ukraine. To this very day Syria has rolling black outs. It hasn’t stopped them from fighting for their country for 11 years now. And Syria has practically no help from the international community, unlike Ukraine.
