Pro-government forces are developing momentum against ISIS in the Yarmouk refugee camp and nearby areas in southern Damascus. According to pro-government sources, government troops have attacked ISIS positions in the areas of al-Hajar al-Aswad and at-Taqaddom as well as increased their presence in the areas of non-ISIS militants where the evacuation is now ongoing.
Meanwhile, the evacuation of non-ISIS militants from southhern Damascus is underway. SF recalls that members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra), Jaish al-Islam and Jaish al-Ababil have reached an evacuation deal with the Syrian government and are now withdrawing from the northern part of the Yarmouk refugee camp and the militant-held areas in the eastern part of the pocket.
The southern Damascus evacuation is a part of the wider deal that includes an evacuation from the government-held towns of Kefraya and al-Fouaa in eastern Damascus.
At the same time, ISIS members in southern Damascus are not going to abandon their positions. They have carried out a series of counter-attacks against the Syrian Army and its allies and have even publicly executed a Syrian army soldier. Some Syrian pro-government activitsts say that the ISIS attutude makes any kind of deal with the terrorists unlikely. However, many depend on how the situation will develop in the coming days.
The Syrian state-run news agency SANA says 22 civilians have been injured in the recent ISIS shelling conducted from the area of al-Hajar al-Aswad near the Yarmouk refugee camp.

Excellent. Well done Syria, Russia, Palestine, Lebanon and Iran army forces. You are true heroes of the Muslim world. You will always advance against sneakers and God will always be with you.
If anybody needs job then apply soon because the White helmets want new faces for acting. The wage is only few dates, cookies, biscuits and an attack of some hundred cruise missiles on your country. LOL. So this is the organisation that work for ba*sta’r_ds trump, may and macron. Shame.
All those elements and groups that take weapons and finance from foreign states are committing treasons and they should be punished under terrorism act of Syria.
Saudi Arab jumped in the war against Palestine to support Israeli migrant state of Israel. Saudi crown prince reportedly said Palestinians should take peace proposal or ‘shut up.
It was against Saudi constitution to recognise Israeli migrant state but now they have exposed their hidden faith. Peace proposal mean recognition of Israeli migrant state. LOL.
Do they have a constitution ? Everything is decided by the king or his son.
Saudis have constitution but they do not implementing it.
No, Israel doesn’t have a Constitution.
Teocraty society led by Torah-Talmud.
Heavy on the Talmud… A country with no defined national borders… huh
All Muslim states should be united like a United Muslim States or (UMS) and their army and military assets should be united but these incapable illiterate corrupt Muslim leaders don’t wanna see the emerging power of Muslims. They have destroyed the power of Islam.
Religion because of the many contradictions and obsolete principles of understanding and interacting can’t unite people, nationalism can… and I hope in an intermediate future nationalism will grow in strength and numbers in Middle East – this is what would save this region and this is what is saving Syria – that much of nationalism that have been cultivated in the last 50 years..
I agree. All religions are essentially cults in my opinion . Some are more benign than others at any given era but at the heart of all these cults is the wish to dominate above all others.
People are drawn to cults for various reason’s, to belong and fit in with others around them, fear, greed, a lust for power, insanity in comparison to the majority, being blackmailed etc.
There have always been violent internecine conflicts in all cults as exampled by the Christian Church during the Middle Ages.
What’s needed is pan-arabic solidarity such as Assad spoke of earlier this year and Gaddafi (RIP) before his disgusting murder.
No, not on the bases of religion. But the union should be on the bases of Humanity and Principles.
why dont they use more drones?
Syria tactics are not so good, and Russia has to tell them several times how to do things.
I wonder who the old, white hair guy involved in military planning is? A retired Russian general perhaps that does not find rest at home and wants to lend a helping hand to SAA? Conspicuously , he wears plain civilian cloths rather than combat uniform like those around him?
This is Ahmed Jibril leader of PFLP-GC which has been consistent steadfast defending Palestinians in Yarmuk since 2011. Good to see him still active at 80 years !
