On May 18, 2024, new law on mobilization entered into force in Ukraine. With this law, the Kiev regime aims to significantly replenish army units by introducing new strict conscription rules.
Signed on April 16 by President Zelensky, the scandalous law provides for lowering the minimum age of conscription to 25 years, abolishing the right to delay of service for many categories of citizens and recruiting people who were previously considered unfit for service, including a large part of disabled.
The Ukrainian population largely disagreed with the new law. On May 18, the Ukrainian patriots, who still had not managed to escape from the country, simply hid. All the largest cities with a million inhabitants celebrated the entry into force of the law with empty streets. A new trend is gaining momentum in Ukrainian social networks. Citizens show deserted places that were once the centers of attraction for crowds of people. People stay at home en masse because of the danger of being caught by the recruitment officers.

The mayor of Dnepropetrovsk Filatov complained that due to mobilization in the city, all public transport and the work of the water utility will soon stop. Empty markets in Dnepropetrovsk:
The law significantly reduced the rights of Ukrainians. From now on, all military conscripts Ukrainian citizens, as well as those who are abroad, are required to clarify their personal data at military enlistment offices within 60 days. Violators will be subject to hefty fines and may be deprived of various rights. In addition, all men between the ages of 18 and 60 are required to always carry their military ID. Without this document, Ukrainians living abroad will not be able to receive consular services and extend the validity of their passport. Also, men aged 25-55 years who received were considered disabled of several groups of severity, must undergo the second medical examination. The separate points of the law extend the rights of military enlistment offices and facilitate their hunt on the new cannon fodder.
The law excluded demobilization and rotation of the acting servicemen after 36 months of service. Provisions on additional payments to military personnel on the front line were also excluded.
Earlier in April, Zelensky reduced the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 years and abolished the category of “limited fit” for military service. On May 17, the President signed a law on the mobilization of prisoners.
The new rules caused outrage among the Ukrainian population. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian men attempt to illegally cross the state border by any means, including forgery of documents, dressing up in women’s dresses to deadly swims across the Tisa mountain river on the border with Romania. Many of them are trying to swim across the Bug River bordering Poland, cross to Slovakia or Hungary by mountain trails, and cross the border with Moldova. Border guards catch hundreds of them and hand them over to the military. Some of the victims are shot dead. Most of the Ukrainians simply try to hide, leave their homes, change their place of residence.
The reinforcement of the mobilisation is ongoing under pressure of the US. Washington linked Kiev’s tightening of mobilization with the adoption by the US Congress of a package of laws on military assistance to Ukraine, including $ 61 billion package for the needs of the Armed Forces. The law on mobilization was signed by Zelensky exactly four days before the vote in the US Congress. Still Kiev should send more Ukrainians to slaughter, otherwise the regime would not be able to count on long-term support from Washington.
