The Hamas Movement and other Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip continue to inflict heavy losses on the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
Between July 28 and August 2, Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, and the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the al-Quds Brigades, released several videos documenting recent attacks against Israeli troops in the Palestinian enclave.
The videos showed clashes close to the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza and in Gaza City’s Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in the northern part of the Strip, with multiple IDF vehicles being targeted with rocket-propelled grenades and explosive devices.
One of the videos also shows a strike with a Chinese-made HJ-8L anti-tank guided missile against an Israeli Namer armored personnel carrier in the southern Gaza area of Rafah.
Additional videos show several recent rocket and mortar attacks that targeted IDF gatherings in northern, central and southern Gaza as well as nearby Israeli settlements, in addition to footage of sniper attacks that targeted two Israeli soldiers close to Khan Younis and near Gaza City.
The recent videos released by the al-Qassam Brigades and the al-Quds Brigades show how Gaza factions continue to adapt and improve their tactics, even after more than nine months of relentless bombardment by the IDF.
So far, the IDF has admitted to losing 331 troops during ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza and along its border. More than 2,000 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit there, according to Hebrew media.
While the Israeli bombardment has clearly failed to destroy the military wing of Hamas, it did destroy much of the Strip and kill over 39,000 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children.

while idf has no qualms at all about hitting ambulances, hospitals and schools, it seems that hamas does not target idf rescue choppers. i do not understand this. they will fire on attack helicopters, rarely striking them, but rescue copters are allowed to come and go? why? make idf soldiers fear that there will be no rescue if they are hit. this will strike fear into them and even more will refuse to fight. this is not a gentleman’s war.
personally, i feel the same way. if i were in the war zone, i would be making damn sure that some asshole i shot stayed out of the fight forever, especially with the bombed schools and murdered children. golani types anyway. it can be hard to know which of the conscripts actually deserve that. after the life i’ve had forced on me, it wouldn’t be wise to fight with me. i would have no qualms shooting somebody in the gut and making them die badly.
