On May 13, Palestinian factions targeted several components of the Israeli military’s Iron Dome air-defense system with rockets.
In the afternoon, the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, fired a barrage of rockets at an Iron Dome missile launcher situated near the town of Nir Yitzhak to the east of the Gaza Strip.
Nearly three hours after al-Quds Brigades’ attack, the military wing of the Hams Movement, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, shelled two EL/M-2084 detection and tracking radars of the Iron Dome east of Gaza with rockets.
Following the two attacks, a number of impacts and interception were reported. Nevertheless, no details were shared by officials in Israel.

Earlier, Palestinian factions launched dozens of rockets at targets in central and southern Israel. One of the targets was the Ramon International Airport, which is located around 220 kilometers to the southeast of Gaza.
The airport was targeted with a new rocket dubbed Ayyash-250. The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades released a video of the rocket late on May 13.
According to an official statement by the Israeli Air Force, more than 1,750 rockets have been fired from Gaza since the outbreak of the clashes on May 10. The Iron Dom system was able to stop “hundreds” of these rockets.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military carried out nearly 1,000 strikes on Gaza. The Palestinian Health Ministry revealed that 87 people, including 18 children and eight women, have been killed, so far.
