Between August 2 and 6, Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, and the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the al-Quds Brigades, released several videos documenting recent attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip.
Four of the videos contained footage from recent clashes near the southern Gaza area of Rafah. The footage showed multiple armored personnel carriers and main battle tanks of the IDF being blown up, two Israeli soldiers getting sniped, mortar attacks and an ambush with explosive devices.
Two other videos showed fighters blowing up an IDF vehicle near the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis and a building occupied by Israeli troops in Gaza City in the northern part of the Strip, also using explosive devices.
The remaining four videos showed recent rocket attacks against Israeli settlements and military sites close to Gaza as well as two small quadcopter drones which were downed and captured in the Strip.
So far, the IDF has admitted to losing 331 troops during ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza and along its border. More than 2,000 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit there, according to Hebrew media.
On the Palestinian side, the death toll from the Israeli war has reached 39,653, according to the latest update by the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza, which said that more than 91,535 others have been wounded so far.
The videos released recently by the al-Qassam Brigades and the al-Quds Brigades show how armed factions in Gaza continue to adapt and improve their defensive and offinsive tactics, even after more than nine months of relentless bombardment by the IDF.
