I have often wondered if the Russian media shields Russians from the insulting and derogatory things that American elites say about Russia and President Putin.
For example, here is Harvard University Professor Graham Allison:

Hillary Clinton called President Putin “the new Hitler.”
Despite the ongoing demonization of Russia and her president and the crazed Nikki Haley’s recent statement to the UN that Russia will “never be America’s friend” and that America will “slap them when we need to,” extraordinary delusion still shows itself in Russian media organizations. Even RT, whose Washington broadcasts were recently closed down by Washington, thinks “there could be signs of improvement on the horizon” and reports that “President Putin, as well as several Russian officials, has continuously signaled Moscow’s readiness to improve ties with the US and the West, based on trust and respect.”

After the long and ongoing list of false accusations—Skripal poisoning, Malaysian airliner shotdown, invasion of Ukraine, planned invasion of the Baltics, a dozen or more alleged assassinations in the UK, sanctioning Assad’s alleged use of chemical weapons, coverup of Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons, etc., topped off with gratuitous sanctions piled upon sanctions, and seizure of Russian property, etc.—how can Russia possibly trust Washington or any Western government?
I wonder if Putin understands that Washington is doing everything in its power to have him assassinated.
Ahhh yes, all of that demonization of Russia. Projection at work here with the projectionists making wild accusations against those they envy and whose resources they would love to plunder. I especially love the ‘suicide’ statement from the unnatural and definitely not in the US national interest, the ‘National Interest’. At least they understand that they’ll destroy themselves if they try to fulfill their desires. This guy must be one of the few rational individuals involved in the corrupt government of the US. Now what about the psychopaths who run the show?
Speaking of the Skripals….. remember awhile back how the US was collecting Russian RNA samples from Russian citizens. Then we have the poisoning in the UK. Kind of makes me wonder if the Skripals were a test case with a dual purpose. Maybe they were hoping it would only affect the Skripals and not say, the UK policeman who went to their residence. Well, the further demonization of Russia with the full cooperation of the Empire’s vassals certainly played out, but the test was a failure because a UK citizen with no Russian ancestry was also affected. An antidote more than likely having been prepared for such an event. It was also necessary to apply the same antidote to the Skripals, after all, couldn’t very well have only the policeman recover after coming into contact with the same ‘military grade’ nerve agent as the Skripals…. What would the neighbors say?
You make an interesting case that has merit. especially when we consider that the US invested 70 million dollars in Porton Down.
Much skull duggery at work here, especially since the UK won’t allow the Skripal’s relatives or Russian consular officials access. How much noise do you think the UK, US and the rest of the EU would make if the situation were reversed?

It’s precisely this kind of actions that western leaders have completel disdain for Russians . Maybe Putin knows the west wants war and he is trying to prevent that.
Stepping back from the deafening hysteria created by those representing my country, I am going to throw something out there to ponder. Here goes.
In short, I see a clear similarity to the US et al reactions to things ………. as that of a human being having a mouth full of rotten teeth extracted, in a single session, …….. sans pain killer. Professor Allison and others, whom are quoted and revered as sage, are not only watching the US strength and influence that they helped create go up in flames, it is also their life’s work which is not attracting quite a few firetrucks. For years and decades they have lived and been celebrated in the elite environment, heavily investing large chunks of their own souls in it.
These Ivory Tower/Think Tank types have blown it. Their ideas and ascertains have in the long run, proved to be grossly in error regarding Russia. The thinking was very publicly circulated that Russia had gotten involved in Syria as a knee jerk reaction to Ukraine and Crimea. Where did that nonsense come from I wonder? Russia, China and other countries are now proving the intellectual leaders of American geopolitics, that their ideas are no better than those of people whom have never heard o the word itself. I wish well to all.
It is true, Russia seems a lot more calm and long suffering than would be normal. I for one would have lost my temper long ago. I guess the Russians are made of more tolerant stuff than I am. My hope is that they are biding their time and when the moment is right they will strike back with righteous retribution. On that day I will know joy and satisfaction .

Maybe Mr.Paul Craig is making the same mistake like the rest of western analysts.He forgets FAITH.Maybe im wrong maybe im not.Putin is having a last mandate of 6 years.In these years Russia will be attacked like never before.I dont think he will be let to do a normal job and develop Russia at a normal pace.The trend is obvious from 4 -5 years ago.And i dont think he will find a worthy succesor in these years(maybe with lot of luck).But i really think he will let a “testament” like Peter the Great did.Not kidding.When u combine politics with faith ur enemies wil have a BIG PROBLEM.Even if they(west) will try the asasination of Putin will only make the situation more critical for them.Cause then they will transforme an usual head of state into a MARTYR.And the legacy will last longer than Putin the man.And will make the whole world rise against them.Cause Putin at the actual moment represents the nationalism.Not Trump.Already its clear for the world that Trump is just a puppet.

Putin search for peace and prepares for war. I am convinced he doesn’t trust west at all, but he has to deal with them. So, he is open to any improvement without investing any hopes in such things. That is the reason Russia continuously develops and builds new advanced weapons and strategies.
