Payback: SDF Kills, Injures Eight Turkish-Backed Militants In Special Operation Near Ain Issa

On March 27, eight Turkish-backed militants were killed or wounded in a special operation by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Raqqa.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, SDF fighters blew up a militant position near the town of Umm al-Manajir in the northern outskirts of the town of Ain Issa.

“SDF fighters infiltrated a post of the [Turkish-backed] factions on the axis of Umm al-Manajir and planted explosive then withdrew and blew it,” the London-based monitoring group said in a report.

The operation was likely a response to a recent attack by the Turkish-backed National Syrian Army. The attack, which also took place in the outskirts of Ain Issa, claimed the lives of seven SDF fighters.

Last week, a heated battle between the SDF and Turkish forces took place near Ain Issa. Dozens from both sides were allegedly killed.

The new operation of the SDF may lead to another round of fighting in the northern outskirts of Ain Issa. Turkish forces are reportedly eyeing to capture the town, which is located along the M4 highway. The strategic highway links Raqqa with al-Hasakah and Aleppo.

And the “Syria DEMOCRATIC Force (SDF)” allowed militants to vote on whether they wanted to be killed. SDF’s shells have intelligent shrapnel’s that cannot cant kill civilians.
