The US Defense Cooperation Agency announced on Friday that The US State Department has approved arms sales packages worth more than $3.8 billion to Bahrain including F-16 jets, TOW missiles and patrol boats.
The arms sale includes a upgrade of F-16 Block 40 aircraft to F-16V configuration estimated at a total cost of $1.082 billion and 19 F-16V jets which could have a value of up to $2.785 billion.
Other proposed sales include two 35 meter patrol boats with machine guns ($60,25 million) and 221 anti-tank missiles – various modifications of TOWs ($27 million).
In May, US President Donald Trump said the US relations with Bahrain would improve, after meeting with the king of Bahrain during a visit to Saudi Arabia.
It’s interesting to note that the statement was followed by a large-scale diplomatic crisis between the Saudi-led block, including Bahrain, and Qatar in the Middle East.
The pentagon is helping the Bahrain monarchy to crack down on the majority Shia population, just like Saudi Arabia is doing in Yemen and east Saudi Arabia.
Curse the lot of them, the pentagon, Bahrain, KSA, and all those spreading this ilk across the world.
Yes they are. So what.
I wonder which succes they should join instead or You even allow them to protect, what they have – whatever that is.
It appears that the ‘ Zio Trump Gang’ is now extorting more protection money from the leaders of the Gulf states :)
Thats biased. Its a Trump deciding that people should defend themselves more and better, if they can.
I agree in that. The ones which can should do more of that.
Bahrain – population 1,425 million (2016)
These size military orders are shear madness, especially when you look up the religious split.
I reckon much of this will be passed to their bigger brother – the Saudis.

The new Air Force was soon involved in its first combat operations during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait subsequent Gulf War. Air bases in Bahrain first hosted escaping Kuwait Air Force aircraft and, as air operations against Iraq began, F-5 and F-16 aircraft were used in both defensive and offensive air operations through the conclusion of the Gulf War on 28 February 1991.
Bahrain would again engage in combat operations as part of the Saudi Arabia-led Operation Decisive Storm, operating from bases in Saudi Arabia against Houthi rebel forces in Yemen during March and April 2015. Initially, fifteen F-16 aircraft were deployed as the RBAF contribution to combat forces in the operation. Bahrain’s forces remained in Saudi Arabia in assistance of the coalition through 2015.[1] An RBAF F-16 was lost when it crashed after a technical problem in December 2015…
Wow … U$ americans finding another zucker who is prepared to pay Billions for 1970 technology !!!
221TOW missiles? For an Island with no armor threat? To whom is Bahrain going to give those missiles? Oh, wait…
Wont be long and Bahrain will naturally ally with Iran!
Bahrain is getting really screwed over, do they even know how to fly planes? Or shoot a gun Hahahaha
