“This footage is taken south of the Mosul dam on the 4th of March 2016, when our outpost came under a heavy ISIS attack,” said Peshmerganor, a Norwegian who served in Afghanistan before volunteering for the Kurds in the ISIS-controlled city of Mosul, posting the clip.
A dramatic video footage was filmed by Peshmerganor , a Norwegian who served in Afghanistan before volunteering for the Kurds in the ISIS-controlled city of Mosul, Iraq. The footage shows the moment Kurdish forces hit an ISIS tank with rocket launchers.
The video clip shows a gunfight between Peshmerga soldiers and an armoured personnel carrier (APC) said to have Islamic State terrorists inside. The soldiers take up positions behind a wall and start firing at a tank in the distance. The video then cuts to images of a tank on fire a few hundred meters away.
“The APC was disabled by our general, Wahed Kovle, who used a german Panzerfaust and two RPG’s to take it out.
“Three ISIS fighters were killed inside the vehicle and another two were gunned down as they jumped out and tried to run away.
“Several other ISIS fighters, who came on foot, were killed that day,” said Peshmerganor.
Since ISIS terror offensive began on June 2014, the northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by violence. The US-led coalition started its operations allegedly hitting ISIS, although many believes ISIS is a creation of the west.
However, Iraqi army soldiers and fighters from Popular Mobilization Units and Peshmerga are seeking to win back ISIS held regions in joint and separate operations.
