On Sunday, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte refused to stop the state of emergency in the country, saying it’s not negotiable.
“We can talk about something else and go to concessions, but not when my country’s interest is at stake,” the Philippine president said.
Duterte declared a state of emergency in the country after about 500 ISIS fighters took control of Marawi City on May 23.
The Philippine Government said it has so far evacuated 400,000 civilians from Marawi City. According to officials, the evacuations included nearby residents of Marawi and the nearby area.
400 people have been killed in the Marawi battle, including 300 ISIS fighters, 82 Philippine soldiers and 44 civilians. It is believed that about 100 ISIS fighters are still inside the city, a part of whom are teenagers.
ISIS claimed on Sunday that 8 Philippine soldiers were killed in the Moncadou district of Marawi. Although nearly 40 days have passed since the occupation of the city and the Philippine government has received a direct assistance from several countries including the United States and Australia, it is still unable to secure the entire city.

Australia is just showing its loyalty to its ally and has no ambition or profit from this war other than the benefits they get from American’s being our Allies (im australian) So yes, Australia are aiding ISIS too!

At this point how can the mainstream really be taken anymore serious. All the fuse and noise about Marawi was about 500 fighters where an entire city of 400.000 people were evacuated.

Yes its true, Mindanao should maintain its peace before its too late. Martial Law is not what and even the same before…… For us here in Mindanao, really needs an action to counter terrorism. I read on another military website that China has supplied the Filipino military with 3,000 assault rifles and 800 sniper rifles along with several million rounds of ammunition. Hopefully the troops can put these supplies to good use.
