ISIS intensified its operations in different parts of Africa over the last few weeks. The terrorist group’s cells launched attacks in Cameroon, Somalia, Nigeria and Congo.

On June 27, ISIS cells in Cameroon stormed a military base and ambushed a unit of government forces near the town of Sandoa Gry in the Far North Region. 26 Cameroonian service members were allegedly killed. The terrorists also destroyed a vehicle and seized some weapons.

On June 28, the terrorist group’s cells in Somali targeted two policemen who were collecting taxes in the town of Tibili Sheikh Ibrahim one the Afgoye-Mogadishu road with an improvised explosive device. Both policemen were killed.

In Nigeria, ISIS terrorists ambushed a convoy of the Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF) on a road linking the villages of Cutmbi and Bulingua in the northeastern state of Borno on June 27. Two Nigerian service members were killed.

A day later, the terrorists ambushed a second convoy of the NAF on a road between the villages of Bulka and Bama in Borno. The terrorists seized five motorcycles after killed or injuring some Nigerian service members.

On June 29, ISIS cells in Congo attacked a number of government buildings in the town of Evao in the northeastern province of Ituri. Several buildings were burned down by the terrorists.

The next day, the terrorists shot and killed two Congolese service members in the town of Bandi Mbisi in Ituri. One assault rifle was seized by the terrorists.

While ISIS is facing serious pressure in the Middle East, it continues to grow in different parts of Africa. The terrorist group’s threat in Africa should be addressed more seriously by the African Union and the United Nations.

I don’t believe the spread of ISIS into Africa has anything to do with Israel. I see this as more of pissing on China’s parade since they are rather influential in Africa with their Silk Road projects. In addition, all this chaos helps Western-based MIC to profit from all this misery. And there’s also the possibility of Saudi Arabia / UAE trying to cap Iranian influence in the region.
