A group of foreign mercenaries who are fighting on the Ukrainian side was destroyed by Russian-led forces. Russian servicemen shared footage from a GoPro camera of one of the foreigners who was killed.
The group of foreign fighters which included servicemen of the US special forces was destroyed on October 7. They were captured by Russian servicemen during a reconnaissance operation. Some of foreign mercenaries managed to escape but some were burned by Russian TOS-1A Solntsepek

May be they were not saboteurs, but reconnaissance unit which was trying to attack and find weak point of defense. Front line in Zaporoje is quite stable, so the “Sunburns” (with quite small range) can be prepared to strike at the direction of possible attack. Thermobaric weapon = inevitable death even inside trenches and dugouts.

Yes, that is exactly how bodies who died a while ago and were left look like: the skin turns black. Images of bodies in that stage of decay are often used to claim fire or chemical weapons usage. While in reality it’s just nature at work. That said: TOS-1A doesn’t burn people to death, it burns the oxygen out of the air, people die not from fire but from the shockwave followed by extreme underpressure. It rips the lungs. So it’s perfectly possible that they died to a TOS-1a strike and after a few days that’s how their bodies look like.
It’s true that thermobaric weapons rely on a pressure wave, as you said. However, the explosion also generates an intense heatwave, so that should still have a charring effect on the bodies, even if they weren’t immolated.
Heat doesn’t work that way. The charring is the result of a chemical reaction. For that to happen it takes a longer exposure to heat or fire itself. For example if napalm had been used. Other cases of intense heatwaves that cause burned skin: the top layers of the skin peel off without the body turning black. For a heatwave to actually burn people as well as the fauna around them black we are talking about nuclear explosions.
I’ve read that thermobaric explosions can produce flame as well (although the flamethrower moniker is misleading). Anyway, I’m not an expert on this stuff, and would have to research further. I appreciate your informative responses!

if a thermobaric weapon does not kill you directly or through internal bleeding from the shockwave, it kills you by consuming all local oxygen within its fireball radius. You suffocate quickly if you survive the burn.
