Photos Reveal Turkish Military Losses In Last Greater Idlib Battle

Support SouthFront

On November 24, photos raveling some of Turkey’s military losses during the recent battle in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib surfaced online.

The photos were taken by the SMART News Agency. The pro-opposition news agency posted the photos on its website on March 6. However, the photos went unnoticed by all military observers until now.

Three destroyed M60 Sabra MK II battle tanks, a burned out ACV-15 armored personnel carrier and a military truck of the Turkish Armed Forces can be seen in the photos.

A heated battle took place in Greater Idlib between December 19 of 2019 and March 5 of 2020. During the battle, which saw the Syrian Arab Army liberating the Hama-Aleppo highway, Turkish forces provided the region’s militants with direct support.

In one occasion, on February 20, the Turkish Armed Forces took part in a large attack led by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham on Syrian government forces in the town of al-Nayrab in southern Idlib.

The attack was a failure. Turkish troops sustained heavy losses, including at least four M60 Sabra MK II battle tanks which were allegedly destroyed by Russian and Syrian warplanes.

The situation in Greater Idlib is somewhat stable. A ceasefire agreement signed by Russia and Turkey on March 5 is still holding up. However, Ankara is yet to end its support for the region’s militants, who continue to attack government forces.

Nice with some verifications

Turks haven’t fought a major war since ~100 years , So a failure in such attacks is expected given their lack of experience in the battlefield .

Thats the problem, there was a ceasefire in March, the SAA were on a roll,if they had carried on with Russian air support Idlib would now be liberated, then the SAA could have gone on to eject those US bitches east o the Euphrates.
