On December 9, an engineer unit of the Israeli military approached the separation line with Lebanon and removed several vibration sensors, which had been planted a day earlier, according to the media wing of Hezbollah.
The source released close photos and a video showing the Israeli unit recovering the sensors and building fortifications only few meters away from Lebanon territory.
A day earlier, the Lebanese military deployed an additional armored unit along the separation line in order to monitor the increasing activities of the Israeli military there. Hezbollah fighters are also believed to be on high alert.
These Israeli military activities near the separation line are supposedly a part of Operation Northern Shield, which was launched on December 4 with the aim of discovering and neutralizing Hezbollah’s cross-border tunnels. So far, only two short tunnels have been detected.
Earlier this week , Israeli Prime Minister warned that the Israeli military may have to operate in Lebanon to counter the threat of Hezbollah tunnels. This allowed many local observers to speculate that the operation may cause a cnflict between the Israeli miltiary and Hezbollah.

This led many local observers into believing that the operation is nothing more than an attempt to drag the Lebanese group into an armed conflict.
