On May 29, F-16 fighter jets of the Iraqi Air Forces carried out five airstrikes on a cave in the Hamrin Mountains, which lay between the province of Diyala and the Tigris river in northern Iraq, where ISIS cells had been hiding.
In a statement, Major General Yehia al-Rasool, a spokesman for the Iraqi Commander-in-Chief, said that the hideout was targeted based on information provided by the Iraqi National Intelligence Service.
Following the airstrikes, a force from the Iraqi military’s 2nd and 53rd infantry brigades inspected the cave. The bodies of three ISIS terrorists who were killed in the airstrikes were found by the force. Moreover, the force captured a field commander of the terrorist group who survived the airstrikes.
Two assault rifles and a motorcycle were also recovered from the cave, which was completely destroyed according to Maj. Gen. al-Rasool.
Hamrin Mountains is a known stronghold of ISIS cells. From there, the terrorists launch attacks in Diyala as well as in the provinces of Saladin and Kirkuk.
The IQAF stepped up its combat operations against ISIS cells this year. As a result, the terrorist group sustained heavy human and material losses. Despite this, the group’s cells are still more active than before in northern and western Iraq.

Iran most likely was secretly given one of these jets from Iraq, and can probably counter this. Shia Iraqis love Iran, so there’s Iraqi/Iranian agents who worked on this jet and other weapons given by NATO.
Thanks USA for allowing Iran to reverse engineer this stuff
