On the morning of May 5, nine Croatian Mi-8 helicopters flew from Croatia to Ukraine. The photo confirming the transfer of aircraft was published online by the local police.
Earlier, Croatia has decided to send 14 old Russian-made Mi-8 helicopters to Ukraine. The aircraft were considered obsolete but Ukraine declared its readiness to repair them and use them on the front lines. The other 5 helicopters reportedly cannot take off. They will be delivered to Ukraine by land later.
Earlier, it was reported that only three helicopters were sent to Ukraine, a source familiar with the situation confirmed that this was false information – there are already 9 helicopters in Ukraine.
The Croatian Ministry of Defense earlier refused to confirm the transfer of military aircraft to Ukraine, considering the information secret. However, Croatian Defense Minister confirmed during his recent visit to Odessa that the helicopters would indeed be transferred to Ukraine in the near future.

Today, Polish Defence Minister also confirmed that ten MiG-29 fighters had been transferred to Ukraine since february 2022. Warsaw is going to transfer a total of 14 Soviet MiG-29s to Kiev. The first batch of four fighters was sent to Ukraine on April 3.
Poland refused to transfer more MiG-29, which were upgraded to NATO standards. However, the Polish president did not rule out the transfer of more aircraft to Kiev when they “are displaced by new aircraft.”
Slovakia also agreed to transfer the MiG-29 to Ukraine. 13 aircraft should be sent in exchange for 12 new AH-1Z Viper combat helicopters from the United States.
So Croatia now has even more weaker airforce then Serbia. It is almost night and day difference now. Nice.
Are you joking? These old rusty Mi8 will be replaced with brand new Blackhawks. There are also negotiations over 12-16 Pcs of UH1Z, as sidekick boost for the 15 croat kiowas. And next year the first Rafale fighterjets will arrive in croatia, that are far inferior and superior to anything that fly in serbia. Most of these are already shot down except the helicopters they are keeping far away from the front line. Almost zero chance of survival and in the southern front 2 Migs and SU-25 taken out last week over two day period. The SU-35s and SU-37s make sitting ducks of all enemy aircraft, hence, why Americans don’t want the world to see their F16s and F35s become target practice.
I would suspect the Patriot System in Kiev and other western systems have been identified by satellite over Kiev and elsewhere. Except for those in constant movement maybe more difficult for acquisition. It sure took awhile to see this level of constant missile barrage on Ukrainian and NATO military targets. I suppose trying to target the Kremlin with bombs gave the Russians all the backing to do; as they please.
