Poland To Purchase Hundreds Of U.S. M1A2 Abrams Tanks

The United States is allegedly going to sign another major contract on supply of military equipment to Europe. Reports on Poland’s plans to buy several hundred U.S. tanks now sound with renewed vigor.

According to the Polish web site Gazeta.pl, the Polish Ministry of National Defense is negotiating the purchase of about 250 Abrams M1A2 SERV3 main battle tanks from the U.S. Per anonymous high-ranked sources, Washington and Warsaw are currently negotiating on the details of a major contract.

“There have been rumors that this is possible. Now these are not only rumors anymore. The details are being clarified, although a final decision has not yet been made, ” the report reads.

Signing of the contract should reportedly take place in the early autumn. The supply should include about 250 Abrams M1A2 tanks that will equip four tank battalions, as well as about a dozen more vehicles for training. The Poles are also going to buy various types of related equipment, including engineering vehicles and bridge-layers, training equipment, ammunition, spare parts and training.

The contract for the purchase of 250 M1A2 SEP v3 Abrams tanks is estimated at 11 billion zlotys (2.9 billion US dollars) to 19 billion zlotys (5 billion US dollars).

As a cheaper option, the possibility of purchasing about 50 tanks to equip one tank battalion is also being considered, “although this does not make much sense,” the source said.

The enter of U.S. tanks in service with Polish forces faces some difficulties, since this is a fundamentally new type of tanks for Polish military with significant technical differences from those currently operating ones. The operation of Abrams tanks and the provision of units would force the Polish Army to elaborate additional logistics and supply systems, up to the construction of fuel storage facilities.

In case of success, such a purchase would also jeopardize the Wilk competitive program formally launched by the Polish Ministry of National Defense in 2017 for the purchase of promising tanks for the Polish Army, the implementation of which was supposed to be carried out with the broad participation of Polish national industry. This program supposes the purchase of about 500 new tanks to replace the T-72M1 and PT-91 Twardy tanks that are currently in service with the Polish Army.

DUMB POLLACKS

The dirt poor stupid Pollack’s do all the sh1t jobs in EU and the evil greedy Americunts have found a new patsy to sell junk weapons like the shitcan Abrams. Pollack are even dumber than the Saudi sh1theads who at least have some oil. Poland has nothing but dumb ugly people. Sad but true.

Cromwell

So when were those tanks in real time combat?

Marco Polo

The Abrams has seen plenty of combat, except never with a near-peer opponent.

* Cromwell ended the jewish exile from Britain.

That’s hilarious and absolute stupidity. the disadvantage of a Gas-Turbine it needs to suck-in huge amounts of air to run but the funny and idiotic thing is they had the exact same problems in Desert Storm with their older Apache versions they needed more maintanance time than flights they solved it later with some serious filter systems…but the doofus learned obviously nothing out of it when they invaded Iraq. How F’ed up is that?

Marco Polo

“Poland has nothing but dumb ugly people. Sad but true.”

Not at all.

“sell junk weapons like the shitcan Abrams”

They would do better by purchasing the T-90MS (T-90M) from Russia.

If Russia and China were not controlled by jews, or allying with them in the case of China; the US and NATO would be investing a hell of a lot more into advancing the capability of their armaments.

I don’t get why they let themselfs conned to that M1A2 scam? They have around 250 L2A4 + A5 slowly upgraded to L2PL, a join venture custom upgrade program with Rheinmetall + a Polish consortium…they are all superior…but I guess the AmeriCunts used their usual magic of lies and massive corruption.

Wont go far with the nwo/lgbtq pushing them over the cliff, bet you life on it too!

Ragheadthefiendlyterrorist

These would be the same M1A2s that the Houthis are ripping apart like paper bags in Yemen?

There’s little point comparing the M1A2 with the T14 Armata; they’re fundamentally of different generations and designed with entirely different philosophies. Far better to compare the M1A2 with, say, the Leopard 2A7V, with which it shares design features, though the Leopard is far superior to the M1A2. The Armata, in any case, isn’t even in service yet, and so far there isn’t even any f8nal word on how many Russia plans to acquire. If we’re going to compare with Russian armour it ought to be the latest version of the T90.

Just one little detail shows how superior the Leopard is over the M1A2. The Gas-Turbine and the piston engine of the Leopard have the same power output around 1500hp…but the thirsty Gas-Tubine needs twice as much fuel, the Leopard’s MTU engine can be swopped within 15min in the field and that’s NOT an exaggeration and it is one of the most efficient and reliable ones. The only thing which both share is the cannon, the M1A2’s is a licenced copy.

Not to forget that the Leopards MTU Powerpack handles any fuel, starting from heavy oil via gasoline up to kerosene, or even olive oil.

Brokenspine66

It’s as well quiet compact for that power, I had the oppotunity to view one at an Bundeswehr Open-Door day. It can be also repaired in the field if necessary what the Gas-Turbine can’t that easy. BTW olive oil wouldn’t be that good but Rapeseed Oil would be a good choice and widely grown in Germany.

What power? Typically germans allways bullshit about power and accelerations, rare cases are crew whom are capable enough to be on the mark, usa has 6-700bhp

Peppe il Sicario

Olive oil??? They could could make some nice dishes for the crew then like spaghetti aglio e olio al peperoncino!!!!!

JIMI JAMES

Saw a lleopard tank in syria with just its rollers and floor pan remaineth only tanks with real horsepower are russian ones 1300-1800 depending on tune, are we done with the bullshit?

Brokenspine66

With potent anti-tank weapons even shoulder fired around who can crack ‘every’ modern tank…it makes the Poles buy of those 250 tanks even more idiotic, those fools stuck in their wishfull thinking with ’30/’40s and Cold-War Era Tank Battle BS Phantasies like in a crappy computer games. Today tanks of which type + origin ever can only survive in concert with helis drones an other forces in coordination, stockpiling hundreds of tanks is just waste of money + resources. If they had not totally stultified and spoon fed with complete BS by the US in buying their garbage they should rather be looking at Yemen where the Houthis regulary crack those Abrams literally on a daily base besides those Turkish L2’s cracked in Syria.

JIMI JAMES

6-700 bhp more like it!

Apparently state run trials end next year and serial production of the tank begins.

The scam also continues through maintenance contracts with us private contractors making abrams very costly to operate

Brokenspine66

The same scam the US foisted on the Afghanis, even invaded/occupied with Puppet-Regime don’t get anything for free, the Afghanis needed some new Helis and wanted Russian Mi-8 they know them for decades and they can service the Helis themselfs including the turbines. The US forced Blackhawks on them, way more expensive smaller with less cargo capacity and they can’t operate good in high altitude with low temperatures because Afghanistan is very mountainous in addition the never ending expensive ‘maintanance scam’.

Go down Moses, Go down to Egypt’s land, Tell old Pharaoh, to let the US/UK go.

Marco Polo

Best to compare the M1A2 SEP-2 Abrams and Leopard 2 A4 with the T-90M, T-80BVM, T-72B3M, T-72B3. The full delivery of T-14s, T-15s and T-16s has been delayed until 2022. Until then fewer than 20 such tanks have been completed to date.

With the Russian T-14 coming in production That will make the M-1 obsolete so the US wants to unload them so they can buy a replacement tank!

Brokenspine66

That’s their problem the US has vast masses of that crap in storage can’t operate + maintain them because they havn’t the manpower + resources, the same goes for Humvees and F-16’s. When they sell force push them on their so-called allies vassals puppets + lackeys..they NEVER give them new stuff only ‘Refurbished’ stuff but still overpriced because of their main marketing tool + method ‘Corruption’. Phillipino President Roberto Duterte complained about that ‘practice’ AKA Scam few years ago bitterly, that’s why he’s looking at Russia + China for modern equipement because the US wont sell them anything they really want. I guess the US absolute don’t like that at all.

US can sell everything to Poland and Ukraine if other countries jump off.

Lone Ranger

The Abrams is already obsolete. U.S. is selling its trash as usual.

JIMI JAMES

Forget it 30 trillion debt whores bubble is about to burst,it’s been a long time coming besides, russia has the factually largest proven stash of real gold, aka weighted factual evidence, sorry duped:

Tony B.

No they don’t. Biggest is still Rothschild cabal.

Peter Jennings

They’ll need them. Polish roads are terrible apparently.

Living in the past isn’t going to do Poland any favours, and neither will listening to the washer-women of washingtub.

JIMI JAMES

Never too old flip,i would embarras the hell outta you in a 20 yo suv,but you gotta work smarts!

Alfred

One big difference is that the Abrams has a gas turbine engine. Armata has a diesel engine. The Abrams’s engine goes a much shorter distance for the same amount of fuel. Furthermore, its fuel is more flammable.

Advances in drones are putting tanks in great danger. They have very little armour against missiles that fall on their fragile upper surfaces. They are going the way of the dinosaurs.

Laughing at what Poland is preparing to buy? Take a look at what the americans and british gave to the ukraine. Pure comedy. Gulf War era humvees, IRA era police transport vehicles etc.

Only the best for the ukronazi battalions.

Tommy Jensen

As long as the Ukrainians are happy whats the problem.

Lance Ripplinger

The Polish don’t have the money or economy for this nonsense. They are literally going to just incur more debt for some imaginary war with the Russian Federation. A war that will never happen. Russia has been very clear they have no interest in having conflict with their neighbors. They have enough of their own internal struggles. The average Russian, I have heard, makes 200 USD a month. They are more concerned about keeping a roof over their heads and food on the table.

Brokenspine66

200 USD? What do you talking about is complete utterly BS! http://www.salaryexplorer.com/salary-survey.php?loc=179&loctype=1

block

You are poorly informed on both nations. poland is piss poor compared to Russia in practically all metrics. I am guessing your western mind cannot interpret economic indicators of substance. Per capita gdp for Russia is approximately 10-12K in usd.

polish gdp is a fraction of Russian gdp. Factor in purchasing power parity and the gap widens immensely. The Russians have very low external debt as a result of fiscal discipline. Again, a fraction of poland’s external debt.

Foreign exchange reserves, gold bullion and sovereign wealth funds all dwarf what poland could claim to have. Potential resources are many multiples of what poland can claim.

“Internal Russian struggles”? I am afraid it is poland that is struggling to define it’s own purpose as they are quite obviously a vassal state under western control. You might want to research the fact that the polish president and his wife are both “jewish”. A convenient label for many a zionist degenerate.

Starting to get the picture?

Peppe il Sicario

You forgot to add that over 40 million Amerigoons live on some type of Federal assistance program and up to a whopping 120 million live from being 2 weeks without pay on the poverty line.

Tommy Jensen

Average worker between $260 to $680 and the pension age raised recently to 65. Whatever the purchase power and benefits are, it is a difficult rate to progress on.

Tommy Jensen

Precisely what I said. The Poles will be willing to sell their own Granma and her children if only we will allow them to be used as cannon fodder for America. Because they love everything American and have always wanted to be like us tooty tooty boys.

kotromanic

Well the poles hate and do not trust the germans und russians that’s probably why they favour a US tank. I think it’s stupid to still fear the germans who have been neutered (living there as a non native). They could have probably just reminded the germans of ww 2 and gotten more leopard 2 for free couse or the german eternal guilt.

But of course if they plan to wage war against russia it would be stupid to buy russian tank’s beside a couple to teach their soldiers the strenghts an weaknesses of the enemy tank.

Not that tanks will play any major role in a environment in which missiles and drones might dominate.

JIMI JAMES

Dont kid yourself all wars were won and lost on land, all ready iran knows how to defuse drones, not just russians in syria.dangerous yes, effective depends of the enemys dealing with.allthough there is big future with integration in all arms channels yet at a fraction of the cost cia charge for f35 shtfights.

kotromanic

Well if you have either drones or anti drone tech then you can use your ground army. Look at armenia. They had no chance against the turkish/ israeli drone supported al quaida und azeri troops. Russia could have problably shut the drones down but the azeris and turks as customers were more important and the russians wanted to teach the armenians a lesson what happens if you want to exchange russian protection againt nato protection and then a nato member descides to attack you.

block

“Not that tanks will play any major role in a environment in which missiles and drones might dominate.”

Precisely why the clever Russians decided on a clean slate design. See the RT link I posted above. It envisions the T-14 working in tandem with other ground and air based platforms of modular design.

The Russians are way ahead of the curve, yet again. The americans whine and cry to Iraqi militias to be “left alone” to steal natural resources.

JIMI JAMES

Dumb cia/nwo fascists, russian tanks would run rings around them, speed is everything selow man.

Tommy Jensen

We won as our length is 9,77m and Russia’s length is only 8,70m, meaning our tank is longer and thus more manoeuvrable on a long run!
