The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) are storming the ISIS-held town of Tel Abta in the eastern Mosul countryside.
Recently, PMU forces have liberated 4 villages near Tel Abta from ISIS in the area: Muflakah al-Janubi, Turkamaniyah al-Shomali, al-Janubi and al-Salam.
The ongoing operation is a part of the wider effort to isolate the ISIS stronghold of Mosul and prevent ISIS terrorists from opportunity to deliver counter-attacks from areas outside the city.
