The military conflict between Russia and Ukraine is mostly taking place on the Ukrainian territory. The war has not spared the city of Dnipro (previously called Dnipropetrovsk), where several incidents have occurred in recent days.

On the evening of May 4, the Russian Armed Forces launched massive missile strikes against Ukraine’s military infrastructure as well as railways used for military supplies of the AFU grouping in Donbass.

One of the strikes targeted the Amur Bridge in the city of Dnipro. It was reported that there were two missiles in total, but one was intercepted by the Ukrainian air defense system.

The head of Ukrainian Railways, Alexander Kamyshyn, confirmed the shelling of the bridge. According to him there were no casualties as a result of the attack.

The footage shows the aftermath of shells landing on a railway bridge in Dnipropetrovsk. Notably, there were civilian cars on the bridge at the time of the strike.

According to the preliminary data, the missile hit the pillar. As a result, the bridge is damaged but not destroyed.

The bridge consists of two tiers: road and railway. The cargo transportation over the bridge is currently impossible.

The main reason for the strike on the railroad tracks was the Russia’s desire to hinder fuel and weapons supplies from Western countries supporting Ukraine. For the second day in a row, the strikes hit the Ukrainian transport infrastructure to make it more difficult to deliver weapons, fuel and ammunition from western Ukraine to the eastern front lines.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have reportedly restored combat readiness of almost all the formations and military units that were involved in fighting in the Kiev region and and redeployed them to the left bank of the Dnieper River. At the moment, fighting continues along the entire front line. Russian forces managed to expand their control zone west of Velyka Novoselka to the village of Temirivka.

The Russian Air Force’s long-range aviation has recently struck important infrastructure facilities mainly located in western Ukraine. Among the targets there were 6 power substations, including those that ensure the operation of railway lines. Targets in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were also hit.

Also 37 carloads of humanitarian aid from Poland, which were to be sent to Zaporizhzhia, were delivered to Dnipro. According to the local authorities, the goods were sent to Dnipropetrovsk for staffing and packaging of food kits. Local residents have made the assumption that some of the goods risk to be “lost” (stolen) and passed into the hands of private individuals for sale. Such cases have already been reported in various regions of Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has previously reported that numerous facts of illegal appropriation of humanitarian aid by officials of military administrations of various cities for its subsequent resale to the local population were recorded in the Zaporozhye region on the territory controlled by the Kiev regime.
