On September 10, Ukrainian Orthodox Christians held a rally outside Rivne Airport amid the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the province of Rivne.
The rally involved several hundreds faithful and about 30 clergymen of the Rivne Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). Since the 2014 Maidan coup, the canonic Ukrainian Orthodox Church has been facing a large-scale pressure from the Kiev regime. This pressure especially escalated after the creation of the so-called independent Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). Backed by the government OCU activists and pro-OCU organizations have seized a large number of orthodox churches belonging to the Moscow Patriarchate. At the same time, the Kiev regime has launched a campaign against the Moscow Patriarchate itself.
In May, Police opened a criminal investigation against the previous chairmen of the Rivne government, for trying to forcefully and illegally seize and transfer churches to the schismatics. Although he resigned, the new acting head pushed the same plan forward.
Over the past years, there have been obvious provocations staged against the canonic Orthodox Church. The goal of these were to create a pretext to continue crackdown on it and promote various sects and non-canonic organizations loyal to the Kiev regime and thus the global establishment.
Im sure no one is surprised that a jewish president is not respecting the orthodox Christian community.
