On January 4, forces loyal to Saudi-backed President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi claimed that their fighters killed 1,739 members and 147 commanders of the Houthis in the areas of Harad and Midi in the northwestern province of Hajjah in 2017, according to the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV. The media outlet added that 3,150 Houthi fighters were injured and 14 others were captured in Hajjah in 2017. Pro-Hadi forces also said that they destroyed 223 vehicles and 86 positions of the Houthis last year. However, all of these claims were not verified by any neutral side.
From its side, the pro-Houthis said that their fighters had killed 10 Saudi soldiers since the beginning of 2018. The Saudi soldiers were killed during several attacks of the Houthis against Saudi Army positions on the Yemeni-Saudi border.
Yemeni sources claims that over 400 Saudi soldiers had been killed by the Houthis since the beginning of the Saudi-intervention in March 2015. Moreover, a Sudanese official revealed on September 27 that the Sudanese Army lost 412 fighters in Yemen. The third biggest force in the Saudi-led coalition, the UAE has allegedly lost over 120 soldiers in Yemen so far.
i dont understand how so few can die in wars where 100,000s of soldiers fight and only 2-3000 get killed in a year. its so easy to get hit in paintball or airsoft and real guns can shoot through walls and covers. bombs and explosives are even worse to hide from.
In real wars nobody waits to be as close as in paintball and airsoft. Did you really think you’re playing soldier while at paintball/airsoft? Study some military strategy and history, even if it’s WWII.
Perhaps because these aren’t wars in it’s classic sense, these are more like hit and run raids. The fronts aren’t large and frontlines aren’t wide.
The war in Yemen is like this: Saudi coalition of murder bombs some houses and civilian infrastructures, Yemenis retaliate by firing a missile or ambushing a small convoy of invaders, the Murder Inc. retaliates by bombing a wedding, funeral, something, Yemenis retaliate by blowing up a boat or something. Whenever and wherever the Murder Inc. feels the Yemeni defence is not powerful, they send their African mercenaries in, but don’t forget to bomb civilian houses before that. African mercenaries enter, either prevail or their bottoms are handed to them, then Yemenis retaliate by attacking a Saudi army base which results in Saudi mercenaries fleeing and retaliating by bombing a hospital or school or something.
That’s why the number of civilian deaths (or as the Murder Inc puts, “collateral damage”) are far more than the actual combatants’ deaths.
This murderous campaign could be ended either if Yemenis had access to a reliable air defence to increase the aerial bombings’ price or the Saudi Murder Inc. had big enough balls to act like a real military.
I believe the last real war was the war Iraq and co. imposed on Iran in the 1980’s. Both sides were more or less at the same level and the battles more or less were done in actual fronts (as far as Iran was concerned) not like these new kind of war and the empire’s war against the civilian population of former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, etc.
Not much can be done about it if nobody wants to step up and support Houthis, Salman could be the new dominant power of the entire Middle East with isrsel behind him, Jerusalem will not mean much when that happens, the West would be hard pressed to defend Saudi Arabian right now, but once his reform agenda gets rolled out Salman will be almost as loveable as Netanyahu. Another thing, if Trump pulls this one off, he’ll be the biggest US hero, bigger even than George Washington.

I’m very glad to hear that Kira, my mechanic has dropped his asking price for his dirt bike a thousand $ and he tells me it would be pretty much like riding my last bike which was a 750 cc Honda shaft drive, he wants me to test ride it but I naturally declined that old trick, I could get the price down more but I don’t want to start doing my own mechanical repairs again because my car would never get a pink slip at rego time.

But my friend brought me a lot of heavy lilies in special starter silt too heavy to carry up the very steep mountain, so I have to purchase the bike it looks like, I could use my small 50 cc Chinese bike but I’m saving it to teach you to ride on, so you can get your motor cycle licence, the 600 cc racing dirt bike is registered for the road.

Preparing for the future?
Well getting up the mountain is good exercise, but I get enough exercise thinking about you, so naturally then if I could ride up, which is in question, even on a powerful racing dirt bike, because of the steep incline and a bike is only rear wheel drive, I might have to put nobbly tyres my Susuki Sierra, but then it would start a lot of erosion of he track when water is torrenting down, a bike would be better, carrying tools and stuff up there is not a problem, that doesn’t happen often, but I like to go up there in the summer every day boating and swimming. That’s my future, if Assad gives me a visa for 21 days, that’s not long to be away.
I really do need a young famous wife to go out there so I don’t get lumbered with another I know you don’t like the expression so I will refrain from using it, but you’ve still got 5 months to decide then I’ll be asking Fatama of the Lebanon for her hand in marriage Fatama is Serena Shims younger sister she might be married or engaged already, I haven’t made any enquiries as yet.
