On May 31, Azaza Media Center reported that pro-Turkish militants had shot down a drone near the town of Azaz in northwestern Syria, 32 kilometers north-northwest of Aleppo.

According to the reports, the drone targeted the home of the commander of the Turkish-backed “military police”.

The drone attack could be carried out by ISIS members in revenge for the operations against the terrorist cells in Aleppo province. On May 28, the joint operation of Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) with the so-called Free Syrian Police resulted in elimination of four ISIS members, including one ISIS commander in the town of al-Bab.

In two days, the General Judge of the town, former leader of the Turkish-backed Ahrar al-Sham Movement, was wounded in an IED attack, while two members of the Free Syrian Police were killed by unidentified gunmen in al-Bab. The two attacks were most likely carried out by local ISIS cells.

Another suspect are Kurdish forces affiliated with the YPG, who have been attacking Turkish forces in northern Aleppo for nearly three years now. They are known to use locally-modified copies of the commercially-available X-UAV mini-Talon drone, like the one that was reportedly shot down in al-Bab.

On May 30, Turkish forces shelled the town of Maraanaz in northern Aleppo in response to a recent infiltration attempt by the Afrin Liberation Forces.

Like they’ve all gone-green now another all-electric drone. If really serious about using surveillance uav’s for one-way bombing missions they might want to try converting to mini gas-turbine jet for powerplant there easily available for rc modeling. Really powerful & couple of pounds small it’ll get to target at least 3 times speed
