On June 7, pro-Turkish propagandists shared photos of what they claimed to be identity papers of a Russian private military contractor (PMC), who was fighting for the Libyan National Army (LNA).
The supposed “identity papers” were in fact a birth certificate issued by the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (a part of the USSR), which was dissolved in 1991.
The propagandists attached a photo of a man to the certificate, which included the name of a woman – “Inna Nikolaevna Levchenko.” This further confirms that these false claims were a part of a poorly-thought-out propaganda stunt.

Earlier, pro-Turkish propagandists shared fake lists of Russian PMCs in a similar propaganda stunt. The list contained Arab names which had been Russianized to look more ‘Russian’.
Turkey and US propaganda has been pushing the narrative that Russia is planning to intervene in Libya in order to directly support the LNA. However, the supposed intervention does not seem to be really happening. Russia, as a state, provides a limited diplomatic support to the LNA only. As sto the US and Turkish claims, they are likely designed to cover the growing Turkish military support for the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord.
All they can do is push some cheap propaganda stunt, in reality they have their hands tie, if they cross the line they get wiped out.

On the strength of its recent victories over the men of Khalifa Haftar, the government of national unity (GNA), recognized by the international community, decided on Saturday June 6 to attack the city of Sirte, located 450 km east of the Libyan capital. Taking control of this city could have opened the doors to oil terminals controlled by Haftar.
A few hours ago, unknown fighter planes inflicted a powerful blow on the huge military convoy of the Turkish army and the forces of the government of national unity (GNA) which tried to storm the city of Sirte. According to Avia.Pro, these are the MiG-29 fighters that were previously spotted on Libyan territory.
On the video images presented, you can see that a huge military convoy made up of dozens of vehicles and several hundred people, was destroyed by an air strike.
The military convoy was completely destroyed by an air strike that thwarted the offensive operation on the position of the Libyan National Army (ANL) forces led by General Khalifa Haftar.
For Haftar’s army, control of the Sirte poses a constant threat to the enemy city of Misrata, 250 km to the west, from which the main pro-Tripoli groups come. Owning the city of Sirte means taking a territorial ascendancy.

The UN is examining the GNA for war crimes.
The United Nations is examining reports of looting and destruction of private property in two cities outside Tripoli that have been recaptured by GNA forces, the United Nations said today.
Turkish-backed GNA forces recaptured Taruna, which was under the control of the Libyan National Army LNA, on Thursday.
Following the withdrawal of Haftar’s forces, videos were posted on the Internet showing shops being looted and houses set on fire belonging to families linked to the LNA and its local supporters.
The UN mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said in a statement that more than 16,000 people had been displaced in recent days from Tarkhuna and southern Tripoli.
