Mansour Dagestani, a prominent “Emir” of foreign terrorists in Syria, was killed by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in northern Hama, al-Qaeda-affiliated Caucasus Islamic Emirate and Ajnad al-Kavkaz (AK) announced on May 22.
Syrian opposition sources revealed that Mansour, a Dagestani citizen, was leading the al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar Brigade of the AK.
The AK has more than 1,000 forgiven fighters in Syria, mainly from Russia and ex-Soviet states. Most of these fighters are reportedly stationed in the city of Jisr al-Shughur in the northwestern part of Idlib.
The terrorist group, which is believed to be led by Abu Bakr Shishani, is known for its close ties with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria.
Mansour Dagestani was likely killed while he was taking part in the recent, HTS-led, offensive on the key town of Kafr Nabudah. The terrorists manged to captur the town. However, they apparently suffered from heavy loses.
Such sad news. This fine outstanding gentleman, this paragon of human virtue, he will be missed.
