For the second day in a row, hundreds of civilians took to the streets in the town of al-Shaddadi in southern al-Hasakah to protests against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The protesters condemned the killing of a local man, Mohamad Saleh al-Ali, by the SDF security forces, Asayish, a day earlier. Al-Ali was protesting along with hundreds other people against poor living conditions in al-Shaddadi and nearby areas when he was shot and killed by Asyaish personnel.

The June 5 protests were not limited to al-Shaddadi. The protests expanded to the villages of al-Said Hamoud, al-Ottomaniyah and al-Awad. Security forces were again deployed to confront the protesters. However, no clashes were reported.

Al-Shdaddi and nearby villages are suffering from a serious crisis. The area lacks most public services and the prices of basics, like bread, are increasing.

The self-administration in northeast Syria is being blamed for this situation. The protesters are demanding the SDF to improve living conditions in their area as well as to hold security forces responsible for the killing of al-Ali. The protests could go on for the upcoming few days.

None can and will support the quamire there. Only UN is there mainly feeding the refugee camps.

They mainly should blame anybody else then SDFs and very much Turks.

Arab region occupied by Kurds; resistance; why should anyone be surprised?

If the Kurds were wise, they’d make their peace with the Syrian Gov’t.
