Protests Continue In Iran (Videos)

On January 5, thousands of Iranians continued their protests against the government in many areas across the country. Iranian activists said that the northern city of Tabriz witnessed the biggest protest and clashes between the protestors and local security forces.

The Iranian authorities arrested over 90 students of Tehran University for protesting, according to Iranian activists. Other Iranian sources said the Iranian authorities only arrested the protestors violating the law.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Iranians took at the streets in the major Iranian cities, including Tehran, to stress their support to the current Iranian government, according to Iranian State TV. The marchers also condemned the US intervention in the internal affairs of Iran.

Meanwhile, the United Nations (UN) Security Council held an emergency meeting to discuss the protest in Iran upon a request from the US. During the emergency meeting most UN members, including US allies like France, stressed their support to the Iranian government.

However, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley emphasized the US support for the anti-government protestors in Iran and described the protests a “spontaneous expression of fundamental human rights”, according to the Voice Of America (VOA).

“Today the people of Iran are speaking to their government, and their message is undeniable: ‘Stop the support for terrorism. Stop giving billions of our money to killers and dictators. Stop taking our wealth and spending it on foreign fighters and proxy wars. Think of us,'” Haley said adding taht the Iranian government is “now on notice.”

Iran’s Forgiven Minister Javad Zarif welcomed the attitude of the UN members who supported the sovereignty of Iran via Twitter and said that the outcome of the emergency meeting was another “foreign policy blunder for the Trump administration”. Zarif also accused the US of abusing the protests to pressure Iran stand on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), that’s known as the Iranian nuclear deal.

Anti-government protests erupted in Iran on December 28 for economic reasons. Now after two weeks, most of the protests have fade away, according to Iranian sources.

Nikki haley said that sentence when the irony is the us is doing the same with its ppls money. The nerve on this israhelli sloots face to spk like that at the un

MH370

they say the protest is over/ended?

Joe

Where money flows there will always be so called protestors

as

There would be more paid trolls aiming specifically for this topic. Their characteristics is the regular MSM based ‘facts’ as well as their recently made account. I advised that they’re should simply blocked. They’ll lose more time to set up new account just to troll back.

Jens Holm

Yes, a typical one. If You say something else or/and base it on true or fake sources, things has to be censured away.

If we dont see, it dont exist.

John Mason

According to an interview with Mohammad Marandi, a Iranian university lecturer and scholar the protests are finished. Iranians are marching in support of their government and condemn the violence, yet this article suggests that demonstrations and rioting are continuing. Tend to believe Marandi who is a highly respected scholar.

gustavo

I did not know this. Maybe the media in western side is, as usual, telling lies to people.

John Mason

The interview is on YouTube.

as

This is actually a counter protest.

Joe

Nikki will continue to make fools of herself and for US. So no standard .

Cheryl Brandon

Iran is no Libya/Iraq.

Jens Holm

Hard way of concluding. The right way would be to update the agriculture producture from ancient time. Both might be right, but its the old men in Quam, which should change things.

Iran is not homogene in a false way as USA or not. It is divided into improving their lives by adapting things and behavings as the rest of the world does – or not.

Of course – Im not Islam or Shia shit – taking only good parts in, but also using own know how, which is avaiiable.

Ger

Send the protesters to America, we will show you how the treat protesters. According to logic of Whiney Haley at the UNSC, there should be UN Peacekeepers in the streets of the US. Maybe we should be bombing ourselves over humanitarian abuses?

Garga

Please don’t bomb yourselves. Instead may I suggest you shove Nikki and the Donald in a burlap bag and release them immediately after dark in places like Mcculloh street, Baltimore (for Nikki) or Crump Blvd, Memphis, Tennessee (Trump)? I believe they will be taken care of and they will learn a thing or two in the process, naturally.

Hopefully a lot of other problems will be solved this way. Teehee!

PS. There’s one teeny tiny problem and that is you have to be in those streets to execute this scheme. Rest assured, I am working on it!

Cheryl Brandon

Indeed.

Jens Holm

Its not about America at all.

Its about some old men using old ideas for things as simple as not even being able to make their own popilation make cheep food or improve the wages for production, so they can effort higher prices.

So You have to split USA being happy about it as well as many others and the internal Iranian facts in stupidism.

Im sure the Young Iranian population wish and want some modern mainly Shia modern state, where improving live standard are possible.

Here You – probatly as usual Middle East Tradition – blame others. But the main parts are made by Qaum. When the first grey hairs come in the hair of some Mullah or Ayatollah, they should be retired.

Garga

Just for your information, yesterday evening there was a match in Tabriz between Esteghlal (Tehran) and Tractor-sazi (Tabriz). This kind of football match between a first level team from Tehran and a provincial team tend to bring a bit of chaos after the match is finished, specially if the Tehran team wins (this match was a draw but Esteghlal needed just one point which they received in opponent’s home and Teactor needed all 3 but got only 1, so the result is not good for Tractor).

I’ve seen worse full scale riots after the match between Persepolis and Esteghlal teams in Tehran, where it looks like a war zone and the fans of the beaten team destroy everything in their path. Perhaps Engerland football fans know what I’m talking about.

You can see a Tractor fan with his red flag (color of this football club) right in the beginning of the twitter footage. The match was in Tabriz’s Yedegar Stadium (Sahand) which is located at the city limits. Stadium location: https://goo.gl/maps/Yc4JKFLKc4T2

I have no expectation from the likes of CNN, BBC and VOA but I don’t know why even not-so-against-Iran media is still saying there are protests with such unconfirmed and questionable proof(!)s.

PS. Yobannye passatizhi!. My balls iz frozen Tovarishch Astaris. Can I leave Gorky park in Novosibirsk(!) and return home in Tekhran? ;)

Tudor Miron

I loved that pasatizhi passage in the end :)

Tudor Miron

SF… your article ends with this “Anti-government protests erupted in Iran on December 28 for economic reasons. Now after two weeks, most of the protests have fade away, according to Iranian sources.”(c) Let me ask – why on Earth an article that ends with above phrase is titled “PROTESTS CONTINUE IN IRAN”

Jens Holm

You write the answer Yourself. Their Goverment hat locked as much information about it down as possible. We only know 25 are dead and 1000 has been detained.

So we dont know and cant just say – like You – that if we are given no information, it dont exist.

If there are too high prices or/and lack food, this isnt solved since dec. 28.

Tudor Miron

Jens, do not pretend that you think that reason for those “riots” is “too high prices or/and lack food”, please. Those protests are clearly instigated from abroad (US/Israel). On the other hand history shows that such foreign sponsored “riots” only lead to higher prices and worse luck of food. Just look at current Ukraine as an example.

Jens Holm

I dont see USA in that at all. Now Iranian children also cant learn english in grammer school.

Thats only a defence for no change. 2-3 medias are closed too.

That were the real criminels are. No and never any mistakes from the Ayatollahs controlling everything by religion and bajonets executing people for almost nothing in bunches every year.

To make You happy, I will give USA 10% and EU 5.

gustavo

The reason of protests was planned ($$$) by Israel-USA-NATO.

MikeH

“Stop the support for terrorism. Stop giving billions of our money to killers and dictators. Stop taking our wealth and spending it on foreign fighters and proxy wars.”

Nikki, dear, you are describing the sentiment of the American people here. So please go tell the boss that we wish this to stop.

Jens Holm

Well, the big difference is, they can effort being out many places.

The iranian problem is, they are not able to make any strong economy for it and some seemes not even be able to have good food and enough of it.

Strange to compare so different levels like that.

MikeH

So your argument seems to be that since the US can “afford” to feed their country, they are free to engage in proxy wars and terror to their heart’s content.

Strange to parrot Trump’s “might makes right” foreign policy.

1691

does anyone honesty believe that zio-mafia (usa +israhell) will give up so quickly and without a fight? they have been planning this and as they have delivered “democracy” to the Syrians already they will do their best to deliver one to Iran. I guess IF there were demonstrations today or yesterday it must have been organized only to help nikki prove her point at UN.

Redadmiral

The major demos of yesterday and today were in support of the government. Some of the anti austerity protests which have been ongoing for almost a week were probably hijacked by Yankee trained MEK subversives, It is probable that they are trying to provoke a strong reaction from the Tehran government in order to drag the EU into the US/Israeli sanction regime. See op-ed by Michael Singh in the WP. The UN vote while a set back for the Yanks and their cohorts,………

Redadmiral

…..should only be viewed as a lull in their campaign inside the UN.

1691

i don’t read wapo. in RT it was clear that nikki got a taste of her own medication. my point is: Iran should be on high alert. may be EU will refrain from getting involved but us+ israel will keep on pushing. they need a war. they see this as their only salvation plus they have not given up globalization and the “greater israhell” wet dream.

Jens Holm

Iran could act as a normal country as well and make reforms. If people hardly can effort to feed its own poulation, something i s terrible wrong.

Those many controllers in Iran could do farming in stead. That would help.

1691

may be you got confused with the countries. I would say the same for usa. they need reforms. they need to get rid of the deep state and start acting like a normal country. they should stop making guns and start farming. and let’s see how sanctions on usa will affect the people. That will help!

Peter Jennings

US neocons want war so Hliarity, Muckain and the rest of the sorry neocon mess can hide away in the chaos and escape their judgement day. It would also give the dollar a stay of execution. So it a no brainer from no brainers.

Redadmiral

Singh is a Zionist lobbyist in Washington. So, the Zionist/yankee train-of-thought on what the “aims of”, this instigated upheaval are; (I believe) give a clear insight to what they want to achieve. Sanctions from Europe is their goal: this they believe will increase the tensions within Iran and lead to greater chaos. On and on it goes until they reach breaking point. They only need 15% of Iranians to side with their embedded terrorist org,(MEK) to unleash the mayhem of another Libya/Syria.. It is all about destabilisation, the Kurds and Azarbaijanis make up roughly 17% of the population. So, you maybe sure Yankee NGOs are busy spreading their deadly toxins where they may grow like cancer…

Jens Holm

USA is only having fun and seasening.

Cheryl Brandon

USA=Saudi Arabia+Israhell +AXIS OF EVILDOERS.

Jens Holm

Hahaha. Thats exuse nr 8765 in a new book by Amazone in the serie of Arabic dark nights.

The price is high. Some iranians potatos and tomatos.

Jens Holm

Hahaha.

Pirates of the Caribians probatly is their camouflaged on donkeys …

Redadmiral

Sorry I don’t understand

Cheryl Brandon

Nobody is safe as long as there is Washington Neo Con Jewish organisations in the USA and the influential/rich and well connected military people/ dwellers of Shaul Hamalekh in Israhell Their job is to MAKE WAR.

Jens Holm

Excuse again for simple things as not growing food at low price.

The solutions are modernisationt of ancient farming and a lot of other things stopped by old people looking for the truth and progrees in the past like better hay for cars.

Jens Holm

This is about lack of money or maoney for it. USA are not farmers there in ancient agriculture systems as well as grapping some profit by sale.

Itanians are runned by old men elected by themselves. Dont put USA in this even they are happy about it. Sanctions also are a big excuse for anything.

Putting in “zio-mafia” +USA, Israel again are the fairy tails of the extra dark arabic nights.

next book probatly will be 10.001 exuses for doing nothing Yourself.

Cheryl Brandon

The majority of Iranians support their government. The few misinformed protestors are a minority and, they are being used as a vehicle for the armed insurgents to get a foot hold in Iran. It is apity that, they should be fooled by americanism/hegemonism and imperialism.Little do they know that, 22,000,000 or teh size of one Iranian die from lack of access to health care/affordable housing and or a good diet! U$A has become a symbol for evrything wrong in this world. A semi illiterate head of the Kleptocratic state/ignorant of culture or political knowledge. He is head thief of a Kleptocratic Regime. Is that what Iranian protestors really want?

Jens Holm

The usual populism of the worst kind.

This is about lack of food or money for it. mainly nothing to do with USA and Eu at all.

Cheryl Brandon

I wonder how is the Eagle Arms Corporation worth dealing in death and destruction and disinrfomation?

Jens Holm

When I read above, those americans are far behind, but do good tryes as well.

XJ5

“Stop the support for terrorism. Stop giving billions of our money to killers and dictators. Stop taking our wealth and spending it on foreign fighters and proxy wars. Think of us,’” – Nikki Haley

That’s the pot calling the kettle black!

Jens Holm

Only some. But You are right in cleaning Your own house is important too.

gustavo

We have to recognize that Israel-USA-NATO are making very good job by putting in Iran proper people to deceive the Iranies and make them collaborator of Israel-USA-NATO plans to destroy their own country. Not very long time will past for the IRAN be in the same situation as Syra has been these couple of years. When IRAN people see their country destroyed, then they realized how stupid they were.
