After Ukrainian advance in the area of Rabotino south of Orekhiv got stuck, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) resumed offensive operations on the Southern Donetsk direction. In a attempt to straighten the front and advance south of Velikaya Novoselka, the Ukrainian military recently resumed attacks on the Russian military positions in the area of Novodonetskoe and Novomayorskoe.
On the morning of September 12, Ukrainian forces attempted another attack in the area. According to the Russian military deployed in the villages, the AFU changed tactics and launched an assault without any artillery shelling before the infantry attack. The Ukrainian military likely hoped to hide in the morning fog and catch the Russians by surprise.
As a result of the battle, Ukrainian servicemen were forced to retreat. Six of them were taken prisoners. The Russian military sources also noted that the Ukrainian soldiers thrown into assault on foot without any artillery support were drugged.
Russian servicemen claimed that several Ukrainian servicemen remained in the gray zone hiding in the wood line. They supposed that the AFU abandoned their wounded comrades.
Soon after, four Ukrainian servicemen came to the area and killed teir comrades hiding between the trees. Numerous reports from the front, including those confirmed by the footage, as well as claims by Ukrainian POWs confirm that the barrier squads are deployed on all Ukrainian frontlines. They are aimed to kill Ukrainian servicemen who are not willing to fight, as well as those wounded in the battles. The murders are saving money of the Kiev regime which is trying its best to hide as much losses as possible in order not to pay money to the relatives of the dead.

The barrier squads in Ukraine mainly consist of the most ardent Nazis and foreign fighters. A lot of them are Polish.
Despite the huge losses in manpower, the Ukrainian military does not stop attempts to break through Russian defences in the area of Novodonetskoe and Novomayorskoe, using their servicemen as a cannon fodder. At the same time, the AFU continue pulling reserves to the rear areas.
On September 12, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported on the situation on the Southern Donetsk direction:
In the South Donetsk direction, the advanced units of the Vostok group of troops, with the support of artillery, stopped the attempts of two groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to cross the Shaitanka River north of Novomayorsky. In the same area by means of aerial reconnaissance, places of accumulation of manpower were discovered. The enemy was destroyed by artillery fire.
An attack by an enemy infantry group north of Priyutny was repelled.
An attempt to transfer the AFU infantry in the Prechistovka area was thwarted. The armored fighting vehicle and manpower have been destroyed.
Pickups with nationalists in the areas of Urozhainoe and Vodiane, an ammunition depot in the Elizavetovka area were also destroyed.
The points of temporary deployment of the 37th and 38th brigades of the AFU Marines in Novodonetsky, Urozhainy, Oktyabr state farm, Zolotoy Niva and the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the AFU in Novomikhailovka were hit.
During the counter-battery struggle, three towed Msta-B howitzers were destroyed in Novoukrainka, Temirovka and Novoselka, mortar crews in the areas of Ravnopol, north of Nikolsky and north-west of Novodonetsky.
Aviation struck the places of accumulation of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Zolotaya Niva, Novomayorskoye, Staromayorskoye, Novoukrainka and Harvest.
Two reconnaissance UAVs “Valkyrie” and “Leleka” were shot down by the calculation of the Osa SAM.
