Putin, Erdogan Discuss Greater Idlib Developments In New Phone Call

Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan pose before their meeting in Ankara

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin discussed the new developments in Syria’s Greater Idlib with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a phone call on August 22.

“They [Putin and Erdogan] agreed to step up joint efforts to eliminate the terrorist threat coming from the area [Greater Idlib] and implement the Sochi Memorandum signed on September 17, 2018,” a statement by the Kremlin press service reads.

The militants violated every term of the Sochi agreement, which forced the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to launch a military operation in Greater Idlib, earlier this month. Within a few weeks, the army captured several militants’ stronghold and managed to besiege a Turkish observation post in northern Hama.

The Turkish Presidency said that Erdogan told Putin during the phone call that the operation in Greater Idlib “damage efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis and pose a serious threat to Turkey’s national security.”

Despite their differences, Russia and Turkey are still coordinating on Greater Idlib. Both countries and even Damascus are clearly not interested in any confrontation over this issue.

Turkey could be a big help in liberating the territories under Israeli occupation. And resolving the region’s and humanity’s Jew problem. And so could Egypt. The Turks will need access to do this. And the simplest way to accomplish this is as part of the Syrian government coalition.

The US is unlikely to intervene on Israel’s behalf militarily if faced with a regional coalition operating within the parameters of international law that is armed with nuclear weapons that outguns and out mans the IDF 10 to 1. And if the US won’t get involved. It’s for sure that no one else will.

Have you ever held a rifle in your hands? Only a person detached from reality can write so much crap.

RichardD

What about my post do you think is detached from reality? Please be specific so that everyone can laugh at what I’m expecting to be your Zionist lies and stupidity. Or no answer because you don’t want to make a bigger fool out of yourself than you already have. Let me guess, the blood sucking Jew baby rapers are invincible because they’re god’s chosen pedophiles, is that your point?

Free man

I heard that Erdogan will soon call Assad to coordinate the attack (-; LOL. You’ve probably been in an isolated bunker for the last eight years.

RichardD

They just cleared south Idlib without the Turks firing a shot.

Free man

News flash: Assad’s Syria and Turkey are enemies. So stop with your delusional theories.

RichardD

Enemies usually fight each other. I don’t see any fighting going on, do you? In fact the Turks are conducting joint patrols and conflict resolution and deconfliction operations with more than one member of the Syrian government coalition. Both Russia and Iran.

One wonders how much longer we have to put up with the BS from two faced clowns like erdogan and trump declaring that they are fighting terrorists. Must give credit to Putin’s patience and ability to mask his dislikes and has to put up with that shit.

EveryoneIsBiased

Well, Putins strategy now pays off. Trump has cut down his support for the opposition, just as the gulf states. And understanding between the US and Russia seems to be evolving, and all the “Assad must go” cries died down. No false flag as we had feared. They gave up on Idlib, and US only hold on onto SDF to have at least some say in the developments to come, not to force Assad out or to turn the tide. And Erdogan will be even happy HTS etc will be done, as they proved not to be controllable in this battle as before. Turkeys focus will be Kurds, and Putin has made tremendus efforts, so they now seems to prefer to let the SAA take over their areas if Turkey would invade. Things look as good now as they ever have since many years. But that coolness is needed further, even though i understand very well, that one wishes it would be much more simple and straigth forward, instead of diplomatic dances. But if it works, then thats the way to go iMHO.

For his Zionist masters for sure :)

Free man

A person like you who sees the world through a very narrow lens is an intellectually limited person. From an objective point of view, Putin is the great winner of this war. Almost everything is going in his favor. Limited people have trouble seeing it.

EveryoneIsBiased

For them too, yes. But Israel is of much value to Russia and Putin, and his strategy is to accomondade every major player. I dont doubt that Syrian interests fell under the table much more often in last year since Idlib deal than before. But still, things now look much brighter than before, and since Erdogan is now opposing Russias interests more and more (deal with US), while the US plays for time and wont let the Kurds be fed to the Turks (not in near or medium term anyway). With the increasing understanding between Putin and Trump on Syria, the door is wide open for the current talks between Kurds and Assad to make the deal, to let the SAA take of Kurdish occupied areas in case of Erdogan attack. Thats the only realistic key for Syria to be once again whole again. And i am good with that. I am realisticly enough to be pragmatist, and understand that Syrian and even Irianian interests sometimes (sometimes often) have a hard time competing with the possible influence on the US that Bibi offers Putin. I am no fanboy and not looking for a savior, just realistic enough to be happy if finally something good comes out if this mess. And if this mess ends with Erdogan loosing Idlib and the Kurdish zones being Assad controled, then i know it is the best possible outcome right now. And i am good with that. Even though it is far from perfect.

Zionism = EVIL

Russia is playing a very weak hand and Putin is in his Zionist masters pockets anyway.

Russia is winning the war, and if things go well, Israel is next. As it should be, because they’re to blame for the war in the first place. And without the Jews and their Yinon plan, most of these wars wouldn’t have occurred.

You need to rehearse your theory about Putin and especially Russian association with israel. Russian supported the Arabs especially Syria and Egypt in their fight against israel but when jihad was called for in Afghanistan those same Arabs turned on Russia hence the reason why Putin sits on the fence; neither the Arabs or the jews are trusted.

verner

the primary objective for russia is to prevent the collapse of Syria a la Libya and is doing a great job with it. russia ain’t gonna spend much on israel but. russia will allow the other guys to do the work and provide weapons and intelligence to those guys prepared to be the frontline. iran with its massive investments in missiles etc can copy the russians and use the Caspian Sea as a launching pad for their missiles on tel aviv and the squatters who then will see the value of their iron dome turning into an iron doom. greta times ahead. give it a year a year and a half and syria and turkey and iran will be ready to do something to israel the entire world is looking forward to. israel has been allowed far too long to carry out its hitler-tainted warfare and the world is getting wary of any such criminal behaviour by the illegal settlement israel.

Barba_Papa

It sounds like they agreed to disagree basically. Erdogan wants the operation stopped, Putin says the attacks have to stop, Erdogan can’t make the headchoppers stop even if he wanted too, so basically Erdogan blew off some steam so he could look good in the Turkish media. Operations will go on as planned. Maybe now that the southern pocket has collapsed the Tigers will go off towards Latakia as 4th Armored has made as much progress there as 16 Italian WW1 offensives at the Isonzo. As in barely any.

Xoli Xoli

Putin was call by a gaot fucker Erdogan to allow HTS terrorists to sabotage all Syrian infrastructure and kill Syrians.Shamelessly Terrorists Erdodig also complained that Syrian forces are biggest threat to his headchopers.Of cause Syrian forces have the sovereign right to protect the country against foreign forces and infiltrators also against Turkey and Israel.

Zionism = EVIL

All True, but Putin’s main priority is to protect the Zionist cancer.

Xoli Xoli

Zionist are the biggest destruction in Syria and entire world. May Putin wants to please Trump by allowing Zionist attack on its allies instead of ordering Russian army to shut them out.

Peter Jennings

The statement by the Kremlin press service is a polite way of telling the Turkish admin that plans are plans. The Turkish forces have been more concerned with gaining Syrian land and supplying terrorists, with whom they have some form of agreement. That cannot go on.

The Kurdish admin intend to hand Syria’s northern territory over to terrorists in the hope that they will keep their borders safe from PKK, and the other one. The fact that the land was occupied by Syrians seems to have slipped Erdogan’s bad memory.

Xoli Xoli

Thanks for telling it like it is.

BlueOctopusBoy

*Ring ring* Erdogan:. Shalom, may I know who’s speaking? Putin: It’s P, just letting you know, I’m gonna kick some rebel ass in Idlib Erdogan: Hold my beer!

42 HSabbagh

It’s so obvious, erdagon is full of shit. He postpones the inevitable. If it wasn’t for his observation posts and literally helping the jihadis. Ther would be no need for this back and forth. He’s such a two faced rat

Xoli Xoli

Absolutely true.

Zionism = EVIL

The Zoinist puppets meeting, Putin will kiss ErDOGans arse again and sell Syria out. The FACT is that both the Russians and Turkeys have their own agenda in Syria. Putin is playing a weak fragmented Russia as a major global player and trying to hang on to the only foreign bases in Tartus and Latakia, while ErDOGan and the Turkeys have made no secret of their desire to carve up Syria with their Wahhabi terrorists. Russia also is the primary protector of Zionist scum.

Icarus Tanović

Just chill out, and watch.

Icarus Tanović

Oh, don’t you worry Erdogan, you’ll get your busses out of Syria as soon as it gets.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

-“The Turkish Presidency said that Erdogan told Putin during the phone call that the operation in Greater Idlib “damage efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis and pose a serious threat to Turkey’s national security.”- But you’ve just sent 10,000 soldiers to the border to stop those refugees getting back into Turkey, why do you need President Putin’s help with Turkish security concerns President Erdogan, just send another 10,000 soldiers to help them if you think the first 10,000 isn’t enough, after all they’re only scared displaced people looking for sanctuary, how much trouble could they be, oh hang on, who are all those guys with the guns, what are they doing here, and why are they chanting traitor Erdogan. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL, the end is coming faster than most of us realize, we may already be on the brink of a mass exodus, it may only start as a trickle but it won’t take long to turn into a flood, and when it does Turkey will be swamped, but unlike the first time when Erdogan encouraged the refugees to seek refuge, this time he’ll literally keep them out at the point of a gun. Erdogan is probably demanding that Putin does something decisive to stop the SAA from advancing any further, but I don’t think Putin could even if he wanted to, I think Assad’s mind’s made up and he won’t stop on any condition, and if that’s the case and the refugees do start trying to cross into Turkey, I believe Erdogan will actually change his tune dramatically, and then even start asking Assad himself to help to stop the refugees fleeing. Big things are happening, and I won’t be surprised at all if the last holdout to Assad remaining in power, Erdogan, actually changes his usual mantra of “Assad must go”, to “Assad can remain in power”, since it’s starting to look like Erdogan’s really going to need Assad’s help pretty soon.

verner

one thing at a time – first let the SAA backed by the russian airforce finish off the job in idlib and after that they can turn east and address the ypg and the sdf problem in the north east and most likely align its forces with the turkish ones and they will have a common goal – to finish off the kurdish unrest and the support by the unhinged states of A to those two groups. Russia has already made inroads east of the euphrates and is just a 10 minutes flight time from the safe corridor set up by turkey and the unhinged. no way turkey will allow the kurds to have any kind of sovereignty in the borderland and neither will Assad. so slowly and surely the liberation of Syria will be accomplished and the kurds will be back as tenants in the borderlands of turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.

meanwhile turkey and iran can prepare the undoing of israel which is what the world is waiting for.

Boycott-Israel!

Erdoğan is bad for Putin.
